The Call for Shenmue volume2
... due to the inability of a few people to maintain civility and the inability to avoid the dreaded troll under the bridge the original Monster of a Thread has been closed so much like the Shenmue series needing multiple titles to even get the crux of the story going I welcome you to the Call for Shenmue volume 2.

Let's keep it right, let's keep it civil, and most importantly let's keep it about the Call for Shenmue.

Re: The Call for Shenmue volume2
I just wanted to include what I (and presume many of you) mean by bringing the light of Shenmue back and it is the following

1. Shenmue 1 brought to the LIVE arcade

2. Shenmue 2 brought to LIVE via the Originals market

3. Shenmue 3 brought to the 360 in full HD glory

... I don't want to talk about what parts or which would be settled for as each of the above would be pure liquid awesome but I believe in pursuing one of the above we are in turn pursuing them all.

If you want to see any or most especially all of the above please sign into this thread and perhaps also include one of your earliest memories of the Shenmue saga or any information you have to pass along, I look forward to seeing all of you who previously had shown your want for the above list to come back and show your love again.

Quite upsetting all our support has been locked, and will now dissapear amongst old threads. No doubt, shenmue II is the most requested xbox original, and no doubt, we all want shenmue III.

I was a first page post on the last thread, and I will be on this one, I would like Shenmue II on XBL Originals, and if possible shenmue I.

and like many of you I ask, WHERE IS SHENMUE III!?

January 1st 2006- Xbox 360
November 19th 2006- Nintendo Wii

WHERE IS SHENMUE III!!!!?????

I have done this but in fairness they probably wont listen microsoft hasnt responded to the biggest thread on the forums so they probably wont take notice of our reports.

Re: The Call for Shenmue volume2
It really is wrong and sad as well to see the Original thread shut down over the actions of just a few but if anything I hope it can serve as motivation in this Sequel to ignore trolls outright or respond peacefully if you feel must at all. It's important to remember that not all trolls are that way intentionally despite sometimes seeming as if they are laying the hugest pieces of bait imaginable.

... so occasionally it just might be needed to respond but remember, no insults, no degrading even apparent troll bait, and what we are here for - The Call for Shenmue.

Now I would just like to push send on this after sharing a moment I had earlier ... catching a falling petal in my fingers.

Something so simple yet so hard and an amazing beautiful piece of Shenmue 2. It's not an integral part of the story but it is a part of your development and I will admit that even today after years of playing it is still a challenge that somehow frustrates me to pieces until I'm successful and the goal/lesson from the petal catching reaches out of the game and I as the person behind the controller without fail feel the understanding of peace and patience that I am to attain inside the game from the lesson.

A truly beautiful moment in and out of the game from the first time I played on the Dreamcast to the hundreds of times on the original Box to the times now when this old and dated game compel me to play it over something shiny and new.

Anyone else have any touching or overwhelmingly memorable moments from the first 2 Shemue releases that you might feel compelled to share?

Thank you to those who have come back from the original thread to join in and I imagine as the rest find out what has happened to our previous thread they too will join us and maybe sooner rather than later we can raise this thread Sequel to the same behemoth status as the original.

Re: The Call for Shenmue volume2
It is a sad day, the first Call for Shenmue which toppled the thread views at over three quarter of a million views has passed away from the front page since meeting its untimely demise at the hands of a NEEDLESS locking.

If I didn't know better I would start to wonder more about the conditions it met the Grim Locker and Scythe of Thread Killing ... but why would someone have reported anything from the last page? how far "off topic" was it getting despite a few unkind trades and insults (my personal opinion just being someone fell into a clever Troll Trap, they might be ugly but they make some wicked trapsAngry [:@])? why would the higher forum powers that be lock down such a hugely popular thread so quickly ... unless - but I digress.

If there is any hope in bringing an end to the story that we all as fans became enamored with the demand has to be apparent, has to be constant, and must march on. Did anyone else notice how much other rumblings about the internet started (or if already present began to really pick up steam) once the original thread really took off? I certainly did and I would bet my last donut I am not the only who noticed. Thousands of emails mailed, most unread, most replied to with a generic response,  BUT what are the odds that a few got read? Even if no response ( not even the generic one that most of us who have and are mailing have received) was sent the law of averages say that a few were read.

The interest in Shenmue is known, the fact that WE want a conclusion (read-deserve) is known, the fact the companies LOVE/NEED money is known so let us keep up the quest to get what we started out to do ...

Let us get Shenmue 1 on the LIVE arcade

Let us get Shenmue 2 as a LIVE Originals download

and let the resulting windfall of cash and influx of profit show them that Shenmue 3 needs to come out.

If you want any of  the above please sign this thread. Even if it is just one of the above, sometimes that is all it takes to get the second, and then it becomes that much easier to get the rest.

Interest + promise of profit * number of potential buyers of product = product WILL get made. ( even if it takes YEARS, as long as the math is there it will get made)

I can't believe they locked the other thread. Way to waste thousands of requests for the game, mods.

Anyways, I came on to say that I see SEGA is bringing the Virtual On series back. Is this is a good sign? They seem to be resurrecting a lot of old IP's.

Will we see the people at SEGA use their brains for once and bring back Shenmue? Only time will tell.

Oh yeah, this thread better not get locked too! We had a good thing going on the other one, no reason to lock it.

I'd love to see shenmue 1 on the Arcade brilliant!

and of course Shenmue 2 on Xbox-Originals...i have the game on disc and played it again via Backwards Compatibility works great(a shame they stopped updating the BC though)...should be no problem putting it on Xbox-Originals.

Agree completley.

Microsoft/Sega have obviously seen by now just how much deman there is for shenmue though, so I'm sure if they ever intend on doing any of the above 3 points they will of either already set about making it happen, or for various copyright (or other) reasons, they simple can't. I really hope it's option 1 :(.

rrod day before fable 2 comes out and just as a bunch of other good games are on the horizon :(.

Glad to see someone restarted the tread in my absence :) Thank you.

Maybe our old topic was locked so that the Marvel vs Capcom topic could catch up ;p

With such high demands for Shenmue II to be brought to Xbox Originals it is just ignorant to ignore us.  So sad that they would throw away the money sitting in their laps.  News has just broke that Sega will bring Virtual On to XBLA...  A game not even requested in here.  Now while it is a welcome addition, it's not Shenmue.

For those who have been following the full Shenmue Campaign, We just finished mailing over 7,000 toy capsules to Sega of Japan pleading for Shenmue III.  Sega, holding the stance they always do, are staying silent on our mailing.  For the approaching Arbor days held in many countries we are going to encourage a mass planting of Cherry blossom trees by Shenmue fans.  I am attempting to fin Yu suzuki's home address to send him a Cherry blossom tree to honor the event.

Sega... Let the Shenmue Tree Blossom again!
