So are your posts, you are here simply for reassurance from others. I cannot remember the last time you have actually assisted in a question asked on this forum you would much rather drop prices, talk about your latest purchase, etc.

The target of your post is obviously a home theater eccentric. From what I've read, he stated the business pretty efficiently and humbly.

Now, if your own insecurities cause you to assume that anyone listing prices are seeking covetous responses, that's something you can work on. If you flame everyone that upsets you on xbox live forums, there are several words to describe that personality, none of which are treatable.

Also, anyone with a basic understand of human behavior could see that he listed the discounted prices he had paid for the sole purpose of not appearing too pretentious.

Though if he wanted to sound REALLY classy, he could be 26 years old and join multiple blogs and xbox 360 achievement forums to brag about his gamerscore, a much worthier topic.

Hahaha, wow, guy. Back when I actually had free time and was a regular here, I was not known to flame people, I spent most of my time helping others. I called him out in the past but have since then apologized to him for my actions. I have told him how fantastic his setup truly is on multiple occasions, via PM as well. Enter you, deputy internet dredging up a post from 7 or so months ago in regards to both my comment and accounts you found by Googling my XBL gamertag which were created years back. If you are going to take a stab in the dark at making a statement, you might want to make sure you're with the times in more ways than one. Your claims/observations are months and in some cases years out of date, if not flat out incorrect.

My setup remains the same, the only thing new is my Oppo BDP 83 blu-ray player. Thinking of upgrading to an Elite but not sure yet.

Very nice!   Hows that Oppo working out for you.  If you aren't a member of blu-ray.com already, you should check it out.  They have great AV forums, and a really nice HT gallery.  Check my sig to see what they HT gallery looks like, and you can also link to the forums from there.

I like them.  They are great speakers for building a nice HT on a budget.  They aren't the most musical speakers around, but they do provide great clarity and detail for HT use.

yeah - they're alright for music though. at least in this place. usually run music in stereo -w sub on. i'm sure for many $$$ there are better out there. but this was quite an upgrade over what i had before.... ! our roomate ( moved out of state ) had a set of paradigms ( no center channel ) - and i was mainly looking to match the quality of those when he took them with him, and left me with my $150 set of linear dynamics ( no surround )... he was impressed when he visted recently.

Appreciate the positive feedback bro. I have been on the bluray.com site but just browsing around. I have seen your setup there though, just never registered on the site. I am a member of AVS and some other HT clubs. May have to join BD forum as it is a cool site with good members helping each other out. Nice setup you have there also bro.

On another note love the Oppo, very nice player with excellent sound quality. It definitely provides better sound than my Panny BD30. Well worth the coin spent.

it takes while to build up any kind of home theater set up. make wise choices based on your budget. fwiw - a hugely pricey HDTV is still going to sound like crap w/o some sort of speaker and amp set up. we compromised to make the most of what we had to spend. and still went over budget.......... always does.

Very nice setup you've got there! I think my only recommendation would be to reposition your subs a bit if possible. When using multiple subwoofers the general rule of thumb is that asymmetry is your friend. Your subs seem to be quite symmetrical in relation to one another along those walls, but I could be wrong. Food for thought! Smile [:)]

Agreed on all of this. You can also go for a smaller screen on your HDTV and a home theater in a box for a speaker system for starters. I have a pretty good size TV but I had to get a HTIB because I live in an apartment and I don't want to blow my neighbors away. I have to admit, they sound pretty decent.

I agree. I think it almost looks a little too clean.

It could use a few classy decorative choices but I prefer that 'clean' look to overly cluttered . Remember the KISS method, Keep It Simple Stupid .

No doubt. I definitely prefer clean over clutter.

Well thanks for all the comments.. LOL. I agree with the majority on this one. There is just something missing from the living room.. it needs.. more. I was told to put a table or something underneath the TV to break it up. As far as an ottoman, my couch has an ottoman, as well as power recliners. I do have some paintings, but trying to get some more of the house painted first before deciding what to put where. And the hardest part of all of this decorating thing, is being colorblind. I don't tend to pay too much attention to color, but everyone else does. The wall wasn't even supposed to be that green. It was supposed to be more of a tan. But overall i'm happy with it. Just need to add more to the room and get the rest of the house painted. And i'm open to any and all suggestions. Smile [:)]

Crisp74 Yes, you are right; they barely show up in the pictures. There are two in the back on each side of the DVD case. Two on the sides that didn’t make it into the photo. You can see the three over the screen, but I must have moved the camera as they look like a blur; and the sub is on the left under the screen. I Envy your component rack. Nicely done.

Is that the 360 behind the tv?
I'm no pro or anything of that sort but isn't it bad to keep it there, with all the heat coming out from the tv and the xbox? Wouldn't increase your chance of getting the RROD?
