Some of you older guys may think this is cool. I certainly do. I spent at least $1000 on this game $0.25 a time.
I am a little worried about the control.

eh most people complain about the controls to the classic games.  Imo i think they just work fine.  They take a little getting used to but they are farely easy.  One problem you will have is that all the achievements is in evolved (bleh).  Big explosions and not being able to see what i die by makes games not to fun.

The thing is, the Tempest paddle controller was totally unparalleled. It was slick, solid, and very low friction - it was a pleasure to use. That controller was a very big part of the joy of playing the game.

Agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will not however stop me from getting this game. I doubt that demand on this game will be enough for a MS to make a paddle controller.

Well one thing this taught me is to make sure that I play the demo first.. the controls are awful. I can't even bring myself to play this thing...

Yeah I'm one of those older guys, I'm in the same boat as you! I've easily spent a thousand or more in quarters on this game. I still enjoy the old school one, My kids love the newer version of course, because it's so bright and colorful and very pretty! That's what I hear when I play with my daughters.
