Email from Aspyr..... for those still playing this game
I sent them a question about the lockups/freezing This is what I got back:

Hello Tremain,

Thank you for contacting Aspyr Tech Support!

We are aware of these issues on some of the older versions of the Xbox 30 console. Unfortuantely we haven't been able to fix this issue yet. If a fix for it comes out though, it will be included in the regular updates for the game.

Sorry we couldn't help you.

Aspyr Tech Support

I replied with:

So your saying if I had a newer Xbox it wouldn't lock up?

And the respones I got was:

Hello,

This is a known issue on older Xboxes.
From what we have seen and heard from a very small percentage of customers who have this issue is that if you start from a previous save, the freezing will stop.
If you have tried this and continue to experience freezes, we can offer you a refund, but I will need a copy of the receipt as well as the Game Box and all contents the game came with.

Thanks for contacting Aspyr Media.

I'm going to test it out tonight.

This game will never get patched.....  As much as I love(d) this game, I just don't think the 360 can handle all the action.

A few friends and I just all started playing it. Same crew that played(s) LOTR. So far it's been alright. They're still kinda learning it, I played a ton of TA so I have a pretty good handle on it, so we have had any massive battles yet. Seems to be running ok for now. We all have loaded both games on the harddrive which seems to help some.

If you're interested in getting any games in send me an FR, teeman11

I don't know about never getting patched but I do know that you are correct that is simply too much for the 360 to handle.  So much can go on in one battle at one time.

Re: Email from Aspyr..... for those still playing this game
The game has been out long enough that they should have patched it if they were going to. The problem with the game is bigger than they admit. They didn't have enough experience with developing 360 games, which is why the game bombed in so many area's. The 360 can't handle it, but not because the tech isn't there. They developed the game as if they were making a PC game. Big no no. The 360 optimizes in different area's than a PC or an up to date gaming rig. Now by no means am I saying that the 360 is more powerful. I'm saying that when the right steps are taken and the programming is optimized between the cpu and the very unique gpu. There is really no reason why they had to release supreme commander the way it was. Except maybe that to make it work on the xbox they would have had to re-write some of there game engine to be more efficient, and that takes time. Whatever the case I hope they do a better job on the second game.

It's good shooting Charlie. No such thing as nice shooting.

I heard clearing your cache, makes the framerate higher.

Just something I heard.
