Post your AV Setups - Part 2
The continuation just in another thread.  Previous Posts can be found here:  http://forums.xbox.com/1819798/ShowPost.aspx *

My TV:  Standard Def 32" through component cables!!  (I know, weak...but I WILL improve it..when I get a job out of college)

*Due to the linked post not being a sticky anymore, I can not guarentee that it will ALWAYS be available.  The next couple of months it should, but outside of that I can not guarentee it.
This posting is provided "as-is" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Thanks for starting a new one. I freaked out when I noticed the other one was locked hehe. By the way, your set up is pretty decent for someone in college. Mine was a 19inch LCD monitor with Logitech z-5300s and the gaming adapter hehe. Then I had a KVM to switch between my laptop, desktop and 360. Better than the tube TVs my friends had I guess.

I don't see what anyone could possibly criticize in this set up. If I had access to a room like this, I'd never leave.

Since we have a new thread, I think I'll take this as a chance to *** out my pathetic gaming/living room setup. Check my sig for the link to my pics.

And lets keep this thread a little cleaner condition than the last one was left off in.

What type of bulbs do you use for your projector? They must burn up fast if you do some hardcore gaming...

Most PJ's use different bulbs so lamp life will vary.  My JVC RS1 is rated for 2000 hrs which is a lot longer then it seems.  I have to switch bulbs about once a year.  I would say its the only downside to Front Projection.  I plan on owning this PJ for at least another 3-4 years while LED PJ's improve so I don't ever have to replace bulbs again.  There are a handful of LED PJ's out there (most computer/business related) and the life expectancy on those is 50,000 hours which should easily last the life of the PJ.

I shouldn't have even bothered posting my set up so soon. Planned upgrade #1 is en route...I ordered the JL Audio Fathom 113 today. My plan is to get a 2nd one after I purchase the new speakers...budget allowing.

The 113 is a damn nice sub , nearly slams with the best of them yet very musical and it's smaller than most of the competition (it's almost magical that something that size can do what it does) . I would assume you picked the 113 over something like the less expensive ED A7-900 due to cabinet size ? You are sure to have a huge grin when you fire that 113 up , be sure to remove any hanging pictures from the walls ( friend of mine learned that one the hard way ... BOOOOM  ... CRASH  ... Surprise [:O] ) . Oh and the built in CAL works really well , should be able to obtain a near perfect calibration in no time . The 113 with the Paradigms is going to KICK A$$ ( hope you get your room tuned as well , I'm sure we all agree that gear deserves it Wink [;)] ) !

I actually chose the 113 because I prefer sealed enclosure subs.  BTW - I paid less for the 113 than the ED A7-900 lists for.....don't know it's street value though.  Yes, the 113 is new/factory sealed.  Big Smile [:D]  I am pretty excited to hear what it sounds like in my room....even more excited to see what two of them sound like.  I was sold on the 113 when I read a thread on martinloganowners.com forum about the Descent v. 113.  From what everyone said, there was no contest.  Given how good the Descent is...that's saying something!

TV: Samsung LN46A750

Receiver: Integra 8.9

Center Speaker: Paradigm (Cinema 110 C)
Front Speakers: Paradigm (Monitor 7s)
Rear Speakers: Paradigm (ADP-190s)

Velodyne Sub (forgot the model but I believe it's 8" and the thing freaking booms)

Blu-Ray Player: Panasonic DMP-BD35K
Xbox 360
Apple TV

All components connect to my receiver via HDMI cables and HDMI to my TV.  (I love $6 HDMI Cables)

It's better to be quiet and thought an idiot, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Yeah there is no contest , the 113 will destroy a Descent (or two) Wink [;)] . My guess is you will get the 113 going and feel like there is no need for #2 but the benefits are substantial . Local guy has 5 THX subs in hs dedicated room and the effect is mind numbing .

When I mentioned the JL, I didn't want to say anything in regards to the Descent, because it is an excellent sub, but there really is no comparison (especially considering what you paid for itSurprise [:O]).

The eD is the size of a small fridge, which is fine for a DHT, but not exactly practical for a living room setup. Personally, if I had to go with an ID sub, I would go with the ULS-15.

Woot! Just picked up a new laptop for college and its amazing.

ASUS G50VT-X6
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220483&Tpk=g50vt%20x6

Some beastly stats for a cheap price. I'm going to have to change my setup completely and I won't be able to take my TV to college as its too big.

I'm most likely going to use either my computer monitor or go and buy a new one to play 360 on and bring my 2.1 system with me.

Setup
Wish List:
MKV and NTFS Support
Advanced Display Tweaking Options for VGA.

Yeah, got it for $2100 (gloss black, factory sealed) + $150 shipping.  Note, that this is not an authorized dealer.  However, I've gotten deals from him in the past and will deal with him in the future.  He handles any warranty issues himself.  At that price....you can see why I'd go back for a 2nd.  Big Smile [:D]  Same dude can get me a pair of Studio 100 v.5s, a CC-690 v5, and a pair of Studio 20 v.5s all for $3750. Surprise [:O]

Was just deal sharing, as the prices are well below MSRP.  Tell you what....to make you happy.  In the future I'll just say "70% of MSRP" or something similar....if that makes you happy.  Smile [:)]

Nah, just try to catch the point before it goes sailing over your head.

"Deal sharing" spare me, please. "Deal sharing" would be letting others in on the deal like a link or a name or a company or place that is selling said things at a certain price so others can join in, etc. Wink [;)] It really does seem to be a trend but at least you are using the same user name.
