A branch is like when you go into NTT and have left analog stick up then when the board is upside down or done a complete revolution. Move left stick down. This is branching into a different move.
You may come across another thing alike. It's called a Transition. It's the same approach as branch apart from you switch NTT to NTG/NTM. Like transfering basically.
