This game really is great. I just bought it 2day and after an hour i can tell it was definately worth it. It really gets ur mind goin with quite a few puzzles and other things that u have 2 think it through. Combat is great, lots of cool moves and combos. Also yes, you collect experience gems to upgrade ur abilities and also find armor to equip and improve ur stats. Storylines great so far. Doesnt seem as if u need to have the previous games to get it.Overall its a great adventure game. Definately worth it

Get the classics for psx... Legend of spyro shouldn't even be part of the spyro series it sucks so bad.

Re: Good?
npmgamer as a good point. It's poor compared to the old platformers. I prefer them not being so linear. Their was no backtracking at all. IE > Super speed running to break open the chests etc. Head smash all that stuff.

There are collectibles > experience crystals etc.

If you're expecting it to be like the good old spyro's then you will be upset but if you keep an open mind it's a pretty fun game. I enjoyed it being a Spyro fan. From after Spyro 3 they have all gone down hill for some reason (looks at insomniac) =p
