OK Game, but car handling not good!
I am enjoying this game, but have to say the handling and general feel of the cars when steering is not good, maybe because I am used to the feel of the way cars feel in Forza.

I presume if you never played Forza this probably is not an issue for you, but i'm sure if you have you know what I mean.

Just thought i'd share my thoughts.

I played and loved both of them, the main reason for the difference in handling is well they are two different racers. One is offroad, the other is track sim. I thought Dirt was great, just a bit too easy though even on the Pro and Pro Am setting, but im greatly looking forward to Dirt 2, and especially Fuel.

Its because you are racing on dirt and wet tarmac etc. You car does sway abit but only because of the power in the car combined with the light weight, added to the fact you are going 80+ mph on a small dirt track. The handling could of maybe been a fraction better, but the game was made in 2006. I'm sure DiRT 2 will be alot better and I am also really looking forward to Fuel 2. I currently play on Pro am difficulty, and am on Tier 2 in career (bought the game last week) and I'm always winning, so I think they should of made it abit harder. I look forward to finishing this game and I will play some later.

I found the physics quite enjoyable. Sure, they didn't go for realism here but I love how the cars handle in this game. Perhaps adding some 'weight' to the cars in DiRT 2 wouldn't be such a bad thing, but I can't fault this aspect of the game.

Just like the others said, it's generally since this game is offroad type. If you've ever watched an actually rally race on tv, you could see that the way these guys steer their vehicles is crazy....it's a basic back and forth motion all the time. I have forza and gotta say it is an awesome game as well, all racing games have different techniques to driving. Take your time and give it a chance...the handling will come to you, as in the other racing games you've played. Good luck :)

Forza and DiRt to totally different racing sims imo. Forza trys to be the most realistic that it can be. where as Dirt trys to keep that fun driving game feel as well as being challenging also.

Forz get so so boring there is no change to the racing in it. Dirt at least as different events to do.

Sega Rally IMHO was the worst-handling of all 360 racing games - the cars may as well have had no tyres at all. DIRT could have been better in terms of the cars handling - kind of like one long bumpy slide. But hey, for $25!
