I did the clear a level in three minutes on the first level. I'd go to a section defeat a few enemies and keep pushing forward. You don't need to clear all the enemies in order to move forward. For survival mode, try focusing on defeating the enemies instead of getting the achievement. Doing that helped increase my success rate. Before when I'd focused on the achievement, I'd die during the Sewer Surfin' level. The one time I focused on defeating the enemies I made it past the halfway point in the starbase level. I think doing survival mode with multiple people would be harder than doing it solo. When doing survival mode solo, you get all the power ups. This is very helpful when concerned with health. Just try having fun and don't focus on the achievement, but instead focus on defeating the enemies.
