Local multiplayer?
My wife signed in tonight and asked me if I wanted to do some local multiplayer in RocketBowl. I signed in too and then she set up a 2 player game.

From the looks of things, the developers don't recognize the second player (me) AND we have to share a controller.

1. WTF??
2. Has anyone else tried the local multiplayer? Did we just miss some stupid setting?

I'm having the same issue.  I sure hope I didn't just drop $10 on a game where all players have to use one controller....

Why does it matter if you can only usee one controller with 4 people??? Its not like you bowl at the same time you take turns, whats the problem with that? Someone explain to me why this 1 controller is so horrible.

Because it's annoying and in 2008 I would think programmers would know to give people an option, not force them to use one joystick among everyone playing.

Glad to see I'm not the only one a little annoyed by this. It doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the game, but it's annoying.

More annoying to me at least is: so different profiles can't play in the same match? Each game I start has my gamertag, then "Player 2", "Player 3", etc.

Yea i still don't see how it can really be that annoying, and what's being in the year 2008 have to prove. Its arcade not retail, they don't have to go full out. But passing a controller about 2 feet from you is not hard and i don't really see the annoyance.

Well that's great guy, I'm glad that you've completely shitted on people's opinions not once, but twice!

You must be a real hit at parties.

I'm thinking that the "1973" should be a giveaway, son.

I'm not angry, I'm merely saying that you're (not "your") being quite condescending to the people who have voiced THEIR opinions about having to pass one controller to be a pain in the pooper.

It's ridiculous that a developer won't give players the OPTION to use multiple controllers, rather than being forced to pass one controller around. It's absolutely wonderful that YOU don't think it's a big deal, but there's no reason to dismiss the people that AREN'T happy about it, right?

This is a really stupid, tedious argument.

I figured thats what the 1973 meant, thats why I said assuming.

Im not dismissing their arguments, and i do understand what you're is.

I said that I don't see the big deal about it(not exact words) and i still do not see why it could bother someone much. I guess some people have real issues with the fact they have to pass the controller.

Also i agree with what you said about the argument.

So lets just let it end. I see your point and i was just replying to what you had to say.

Re: Local multiplayer?

1 controller, no choice = bad

1 player logged in, the other's anonymous = bad

These are simple features that shouldn't have been overlooked.

I think it's just another instance of pushing people into playing on live, and ignoring features for multi-play on a single console!

(Just for the record, and not that it matters, but the "53" is 1953.)

Re: Local multiplayer?

Add my name to the list of folks who haven't been able to add a second controller/sign-in (local multiplayer) to Rocket Bowl.  Of course the trial version is single player only, so you didn't find this out until purchasing the game.  Hopefully a fix is forthcoming.

The forums were having issues early in the week, and that was happening everywhere around here.

Anyhoo, I too was a bit disappointed with the entire local setup. It actually seemed quite sneaky, with the demo being single player. However, if you have two consoles in your house, and two gold tags, you can get around this. My wife and I played quite a bit over Live last night, and it's really a fun game.

Developers, is there any chance we may see a change in the local multi-player?

Re: Local multiplayer?
if you have always been into games, i think most people stay with it.  i have been a gamer since i was little and still am.  i am 30.  thats why i love the XBLA so much.  a lot of games in there really make me feel like i am back in the 80's pumping quarters into the machine with friends.

and, then, for the next game you can pop in some beautiful next-gen HD game.  it's great.

Your right never too old I am 47 and my Mom is 81 and she will kick my quantum singularity in ping-pong
golf, Battle Ship, and R-Ball  By the way I have the same prob with Loc. play
Its a pain in the butt my workaround invoke a two player game and just give the one
game pad to the other player when its their turn it works. Till they patch it if ever????

HAPPY GAMING AT ANY AGE .
