The 20 year club

To all original Tetris gamers who have been playing since before the days of Ghost Piece, Hard Drop, Hold Piece, Wall Kick, Fast DAS, etc.

How long have you been playing Tetris, what was the first version you played, and what was/is your favorite and least favorite versions and why?

I got my start in 1989 with the NES version, but ended up spending more time on the 1989 Game Boy version followed by Tetris DX after the Game Boy Color came out. DX was my first experience with Wall Kick (leading to the infamous Wall Climb glitch), and it also had a really comfortable DAS rate that allowed me to place stuff where I wanted it in the higher levels.

After I had gotten rid of my Game Boys, I quickly scrambled to find some kind of Tetris game to keep myself in practice, so I got an old copy of Tetris & Dr. Mario on the Super Nintendo. From about the age of 17 onward, that was my primary source of Tetris fulfillment. I played bits and pieces of The New Tetris and Tetris Worlds, but T & Dr. M was still where I spent most of my time.

I never even played Evolution, but when I saw Splash available on XBLA, I had to get it. I tell you what, after all of these years, I think they've perfected Tetris. This is so playable and fun compared to the older games that it's almost unreal.

I have to say that Splash is my favorite. My least favorite would be the goofy and nonsensical Tetrisphere on N64.

I need achievement boosting help in the following games:
Castle Crashers
Halo 3
Midnight Club Los Angeles
Sonic 2

Been playing since Nes, although i haven't played many tetris in and between, started loving it again with the DS but i really like Splash cuz of the competitive side to it. I'm guessing everyone already know how long and tiresome it gets in tetris DS to wait for 4 people to join a game....

I first played in the Arcade and then on the NES when it came out shortly after. I also played Tetris 2 on the NES, which was WAY different, but quite fun when you got used to it. Played the NES for a few years and then didn't touch a Tetris game until Evolution, which seemed after the LONG break and this being my first time playing online.

Got Splash the first day it came out and realized what a pile of $hit Evolution was... Anyways, I love Splash and would consider it my favorite Tetris game... not that I have that much experience with anything other then the Original though...
