Due to the consistent influx of threads on this topic, please keep all discussion relating to the Old Tomb chest (see: Go to www.fable2.com for information on how to access the gold and items your heroic ancestors left behind) here.

How to open the chest: Go here (http://fable2.xbox.com/Experience.aspx).  There you will find the interactive "A Hero's Tale" story.  Eventually you will reach an area with three crowns to choose from.  Each crown gives you a different set of items that will be transferred to the chest.  Complete the game three times, choosing a different crown when prompted, to win all the prizes.


Issues with the Fable II page:

If you can't find the game on fable2.com, that would be because it's hosted here on Xbox.com; go here.
Note: You must be logged on to Xbox.com before attempting to play.

If the site does not accept your birthday, clear your cookies and try again. Or try entering the date in Day/Month/ Year format.
Note: You must be age 18 or older to play this game.

If the items you won do not immediately appear in the chest, give the game some time to update.  If the chest does not receive the items within an hour, try the splash game again.


Any further questions (as this is just a very basic rundown) should be discussed in this thread to cut down on clutter.

Thanks, MeanMachine.  It's just that there's so many of these questions it's beginning to junk the board up a bit.  Not to mention nobody seems motivated enough to use the search function or look back a page.

No problem, I praise anyone who deserves it :). Ive seen many of your posts! Always on topic and very helpful (this thread for example) and i agree with the bit ive highlighted in red ^ alot of lazy people who cant be botherd to look back on pre-posted topics... At least some people try to keep things in order.

there was a similar problem like this over at the GTA IV forums, people kept asking how to start up The Lost and Damned, so I created a thread for it and had it stickied. You should contact a mod and ask them to sticky this for you!

I have all the items with my first Character. Now if I was to start a second character do these items appear automatically in the chest for them or do I have to go through the web game again??

To be completely honest, I am not sure.  Sorry, but I've never attempted to access the items twice.  Just test it out.

I think if you are always connected to Xbox Live, it should be no problem. I've been having issues with it, can only sometimes open the guild chest with a different char. Usually after I've connected to Xbox Live.

The items are associtated with your Gamertag, so if you're connected to LIVE whilst accessing the chest, you will get the items. You won't have to complete the web game again.

How do i get my gamer tag on this site to match my gamer tag on my consul, i think that is why i cant get the chest to open....it keeps telling me to go the "Fable 2 " web page, Oh and when i try to put my gamer tag in the box (when it wants you to feel out the information to become a member to this site) it says the gamer tag is not available, well of course its not available, it is my gamer tag........i do not understand.

At the xbox.com sign in page, enter the email address and password you use on your original tag.  After doing so, you'll be logged in on your standard profile and may continue.

They will be there.  I have 6 games and all 6 chests opened for me.  I love walking around at the beginning of the game in a chicken suit.  LMFAO!!

That's a little confusing.  The crowns aren't the prizes.  It's the items you get from them that are.  They are as follows:

Evil King- 'Nasty Expressions' Booklet and Pink Dye
Leave it All Behind- The illustrious Chicken Suit

Ok, if I turn out to be in the completely wrong place here, I read up on the guide that's been stickied in this forum that the chest I'm looking for is in the tomb of heroes right? 

Granted it might have to update in a short while before I can go get my chicken suit, but while going through there, I'm not sure if I'm in the right place.  You see I did that Charlie quest thing where the old woman asks you to go get her grandson - which is how I found the tomb in the first place.  ::SPOILER ALERT (JUST IN CASE)::

When I found him (while opening other smaller chests along the way), we ended up opening the big chest at the end which had nothing but a note in it - of course it's not a big chest as such - I know what it is, but just can't spell the word off the top of my head without it looking wrong, but most of you will probably know what I mean.  ;-)

Anyway, I went back in there and now that the main chest is open, I'm guessing it might reset to a closed position or something?  Otherwise I see no other area amongst all the fighting I have to do just to move around the poxy place, so I'm wondering if I'm in the wrong place completely.  :-\

I'm carrying on where I left off after beating the game awhile back, so my mind is a little hazy on where everything is, so it might be something I'd have known if I'd played through quite recently.  Hope you guys can help cause I don't wanna run around that tomb getting beat up by undead all day long when no doubt I'm just doing something stupidly wrong.

And for the second time today I find out what I need to do straight after posting!  Yay stupidity!  ;-)

every time i try to play the game to get the chest it keeps saying nay nay nay denied entrance.......why?

There's an issue with the date you entered to play the game.  You most likely are either too young or entered the date incorrectly.  If the problem persists, attempt the suggested solution in the OP.

i went to delete the cookies and it still does the same thing with the naynaynay and i dont know what the op is and where to find it

The OP is the original post, or the first post of the thread (mine).  People have reported that clearing the cookies work.  However, some people just can't get the game to work for unexplained reasons.  I've sent an email to LionHead, but never received a reply.  I may just send a follow-up one, though, as this is pretty rediculous.

You should add to the OP that the birthday must be entered as Day/Month/Year(31/1/90). Not Month/Day/Year(1/31/90). That is one of the biggest problems people have figuring out ;)

Xboxlive member since November 15, 2002.

I've completed the mini games and claimed my prizes.  My windows live id is attached to my gamer card.  I'm logged in to xbox live but when I try to open the chest in the guild it says go to fable2.com.  What am I doing wrong?

Also, when I try to play the game and claim a prize it says that there was either a server error or that it's already been claimed.  what's going on and how do I get my stuff?

When did you try to access the prizes?  There have been many reports that the chest is slow to update.  Other than that, I see no reason why you should not get your items.

Please post back if the issue has not resolved with time.
