Who's better?

The Banjo Kazooie series is 100x better than the Donkey Kong series. What was the last game Donkey Kong was in besides Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Donkey Conga? That can barely pass for a game...I think I've made my point.

Donkey Kong was good in its early years, reached its peak in DK64 I'd say. But it did die off later on.

   I enjoyed the titles on the SNES, and I believe that DK64 was a superb title on the N64. That said, once that game was released, there hasn't been a really solid game from that franchise. Sure, there was some drum game but that hardly constitutes another adventure/platformer like its predecessors.

   Banjo-Kazooie, whilst not having Nuts & Bolts, being a continuation of the platforming we say in the N64 days, still holds to be a strong franchise. For that reason, I think BK is better, but I would love to see a true sequel to Donkey Kong 64.

donky kong 64 was better than banjo

the only reason donkey kong got crap was because rare is now with microsoft. there will never be a true sequeal to DK64. blame microsoft!

DK64 was better the banjo, but tooie was better then DK. If you really think about it, DK64 was just banjo with Donkey Kong substituted in anyway, replace jiggys / notes with bananas and banjo with monkeys.

If you ask me DKC 1 and BK 1 are the greatest, and the sequels of both series would never match them. Having said that, DKC3 got very close... DKC2, although good, was terrible compared to 1 & 3. I think you could probably say that about BK too (BK & N&B > BT)

Exactly. Why the he1l would you play the latest games in the series? Donkey Konga (if that is the latest) and Nuts'n'Bolts are both pretty awful games imo. I'd rather play some DKC 1-3, DK64, BK or BT. Best games in each series.

Yes, there hasn't been a really good Donkey Kong game since Donkey Kong 64, but I liked the Donkey Konga games and Jungle Beat, although it's only up to par with the earlier titles.  I loved all the DKC games and DK64.  As far as the Banjo series, I love all three games.

You can't really compare a linear 2D game (DKC) to a 3D adventure (Banjo Kazooie). They are completely different styles.

For 2D platformers, DKC was amazing, not quite as good as Mario, but almost. The controls were perfect, the music was sublime (Aquatic Ambience is my favorite game tune), the stages were challenging, and the characters were funny.

For 3D adventures, DK64 was good. It seemed way too ambitious, too much collecting just to unlock a new character or area. Plus the bosses were tough.

I never played Banjo Kazooie, so I don't know about that series. Is Nuts & Bolts a good game? I've heard good things about it.

If you ask me, they're pretty equal in ability. It's all really personal reference. Which do you like more: A group of monkey friends always under attack by an evil crocodile, or a bear and a bird being taught crap by a mole to defeat an evil witch?

Banjo's an all time classic fave for me.  I played a lot of DK64 and never beat it though.

Donkey Kong jungle beat was actually a lot of fun though.
