i just ordered thi sgame and should be in the mail soon.  Has the online community for this game gone away?  I hope not because I played this game on the original xbox online and loved it.  The community was great and the races were always full.  Please let me know if the community for this game is strong.

It is indeed strong still. If you need any help we have a great Racing School, with videos and guides (follow the link in my signature) and there's always someone to play with.

That is great news.  I will definitely need some guidance.  I havent played the series since the online play was free on the original xbox.  The game on the original xbox was very laggy.  How is the lag on the 360?

We are just about to start a Real Laps league if you are interested? it's a great way of learning the tracks and getting PBs. Real Laps is like the real sport we run one track a week, with full laps.

cool!  I definitely will do that.  I am just happy that the game's community is still in effect.  You learn so much from live competition instead of computer AI.  I am still waiting on the game but it should be here today or tomorrow.

I'm just starting to really try and learn how to get better at this game myself. I'd love to try it online at some point, but don't want to tick someone off if I *** up and crash out. I'm trying to build my time up in career right now and get comfortable I guess. I've started actually trying to race one career race a week myself and actually completed race #3 at Istanbul and I'm amazed at how well I did. Just seemed to click and I finished in 2nd. I feel as if there is hope at learning the game. Only went down about 3 times total and I think 2 of those were do to another bike hitting me, one I went off track and did a stoppie, that's a first LOL. But when all was said an done I was happy and I'm looking foward to learning more as I go.

Yeah, I need to go online and get the "stunt mode achievement". Anyone want to go online, send a Friend Request to FEELTHEBOOST, with "GP 07" in the message box.
