Non-Violent, Family Friendly Game

Rob771011 04-29-2009, 10:00 PM
I just got done playing Super Cow with my niece. She's very young, so I wanted to keep her away from anything not appropriate for her age. I found Super Cow and she loved it. It's an easy control scheme, and she loved the theme, and cartoony look of everything. Best of all it was non-violent and didn't have any content I had to worry about screening for her. I recommend this to any parents looking for a fun "Mario style" game that is approachable for kids.

Lego Star wars 2
Lego Star Wars the complete saga
Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman
Viva Pinata maybe...
I like a challenge...
... I only hate it when I can't solve it

the lego games are a great recommendation Panda. That was what I was going to suggest. Also Fusion Frenzy, Viva Pinata: Party Animals, Guitar Hero/Rock Band (if that's her thing) are all really great family games.

I know that there are more out there, but I'm drawing a blank right now.

Thanks, I drew a blank as well.  The Lego series are usually the first that come into mind, lol.  I like playing Lego Star Wars 2 with my sis, and its pretty much the only game we play together.  (Although I allow her to play Halo 3 as the only mature game, cus she knows its fake and it doesnt scare her one bit.  But I dont recommend Halo 3 for a small child [OP])
Racing games maybe fun 2, mainly arcade as Sims maybe too hard, eg PGR4 and PGR3.  Some arcade games maybe nice as well, eg family game night, etc.  Theres plenty out there.

Plenty of good suggestions above. So I'll suggest some arcade downloads for you.

All of the family gaming night games (Hasbro).
Boom Boom Rockets
A Kingdom of Keflings
Pac-man, Mrs Pacman, Pac-man CE
Zuma
Luxor 2
Peggle
Tetris Splash

These are just a few, I'm sure there are some others that I'm not thinking about right now.

Cool [H]  Its all good!  I don't have it myself for the 360... but I'm still a DDR Fan!  Most people forget there is even a version of DDR for the 360.

Most any game with A LOT of colors.  I think there's a section in the Market Place demos, that's listed as "family".  I'm not 100% sure at all but it seems like I've seen that catagory.  But DL some of the demos and see what they're like first.
Why does laying around make you more tired?

Not sure what age bracket we are looking at here but sport games can be  fun as well. We find Tiger Woods to be pretty enjoyable as a family.

I'm not a parent but you could try feeding frenzy. The arcade disc (which you can get for about $8 used) has a couple games on it. Pac-man, feeding frenzy, boom boom rocket, luxor 2, and uno. The ones I don't suggest however are luxor 2 and uno. Luxor could be kinda boring for a little kid and uno...well if anyone has played it they know. Boom boom rocket is kinda fast paced but it has fireworks. What kid doesn't like fireworks? lol
