OXCGN's Third Playdate - May 22nd for some Solid Street Fighter IV Fisty-Cuffs with THQ and OXCGN's best



Come and join OXCGN at its fourth official Xbox Playdate being held on Friday 22nd MAY between 8 - 11pm AEST via XboxLIVE. Where you will be joined by staff of THQ Australia and some of OXCGN's Best SFIV players competing in the new Street Fighter IV Multiplayer modes which were released not long ago for the Xbox 360 on LIVE.

You can join us by simply sending any of the following a friends Invitation via their gamercard links below, or from the OXCGN Playdate Page or via your own Xbox360 Dashboard. Just look for it in the Events Pane under Playdates, you can't miss it.

Note: The five main players on the night will be

Our last Playdate for Riddick was great, while smallish due to late release of game, the play was solid for those who attended, and everyone walked away happy. But there were some issues with lag for several players. Which seems to be a game thing more than an end-user thing. So ideally that will get a 'bug-fix' with an update soon.

Playdates are an excellent way of getting into the swing of things with other sites and various developers. OXCGN will be teaming up with some other publishers for other games in the future, as well as some other sites so we all can get down-n-dirty on Live and share the fun around. There's only so many Fridays in one month, so we're looking at doubling up with some other site to expand the numbers and the rooms on the nights

As always OXCGN is expanding and slowly gaining support from these other sites, so here are some of those sites that are helping the Xbox Community to grow and flourish.

OXCGN's aim is to be a focal part of the Australian Xbox Community Network to help gamers like yourself enjoy their leusire time. So make sure you slip over and check these guys out, sign up for some events that they may be having, get a few races in for the Forza 2 nuts out there. Enter their competitions like the one at Rated G 4 Gamers and see if you can win some neat prizes of course.

Do check out OzBoxLives unique OzBoxLive TV's Reviews, which always prove to be a great laugh and basically have fun with your fellow Xboxers. ThumbPad's first Podcast went to the very top of the Australian gaming downloads on iTunes, beating GameSpot's podcast during its first week live. Congratulations guys.

Be that by passing comments and of course, reading the various reviews, articles and Investigation Pieces our team has been producing of late. OXCGN is now the fastest growing Xbox Community site on the net and in Australia. And lets not forget OzBoxLives COD World At War the following Friday night 29th May which seems to have also slipped off the radar on the Community Forums some how ???

You'll find it on the Xbox LIve Calender for May 29th, but there's a dead link there as well . . . looks like some late night repair work is ahead for the back-end boys at MS.

So make sure you hit those guys up, as they support other Community sites. The whole thing is aimed at each site and Australian gamers supporting each other the best they can.

Well the next OXCGN Playdate - Street Fighter IV night is shaping up really well. With several sites all competing against each other and throwing their gloves down for some good old dustings. OXCGN Affiliates are all coming along as well, so it'll be a grand night for all who attend.

We'll have a full list of sites that will be supporting us on the night, so there will be quite a few rooms open for anyone wanting to take on the OXCGN/THQ teams . . . You'll be able to send them a friends request as well, so we can share the love around the various sites.

Plus we have a Special Treat for you in the next few months re Playdates at OXCGN . . . but more on that later. Right now though, THQ have donated some sought after Street Fighter IV items as prizes that are not usually found on the shelves. So make sure you head over to the lounge room come Friday 22nd and crank the old 360 up.:

Well only a few more days until the big event - OXCGN/THQ's Street Fighter:IV Takes On All-Comers, we have some more news for players.

To the team at OXCGN,  Thanks for the invite Grant! We really appreciate it and the team is looking forward to the challenge! We are playing the game at Kanes store in Moonee Ponds and most of the ThumbPad team will be there representing and doing some intense training to try and win this thing!

I was unable to attain a copy of SF4 seeing as all my money has gone towards E3 this year and the trip.. No promo copies were available either.. I notified those who added me on the night as well as other from the other affiliate sites to let them know..

Plus only Myself, TWODOGSz and AXIS were the only OXCGN players on the night and i knwo TWODOGSz showed up.. As for AXIS i have no clue perhaps the storm s attributed to his no show?

The Oxcgn guys must have been scared of the mighty Thumbpad Team. At least you took your whooping like a man! We made sure Dvs Dingo played before his bourbon, and The KarateKid 4 played better after a few. I was watching Ufc with Baxxs and we screaming at Serblander. Dboi31080 put on Sfiv and when there was no Grathiusxr he leveled up in Cod:Waw. Icefx busted out his joystick and we were all impressed. Can't wait for the next one

On behalf of OXCGN i would like to apologize for my not being there as i wasn't able to secure a copy of the game to join in on the fun which is very unfortunate.. But im glad all the affiliate sites did their best to keep the night going with little info and what you all had at the time..

Appreciate it very much..

Because of funds i wasn't able to buy the game so hence why i missed out..

Also Red Faction: Guerrilla is our next Play Date as i have been told and should slowly start spreading the word to everyone in the Aussie/NZ Community because that is a deifnite no holds barred be there and join the red faction revolution or not...

Your choice Stick out tongue [:P]...

As usual i will be there this time since i'll have the game Big Smile [:D]..

It will be a big turnout because there are many gamers eagerly awaiting for it to be released and multiplayer has shown uds through the BETA and now the MP DEMO that the game is good in both aspects and here to stay!
