Is this your FAVORITE Dynasty Warriors game? and if so why? If not what IS your favorite Dynasty game, and why is that one your favorite?

Also what is (in your opinion) the worst and/or the best thing about Dynast Warriors 6?

not played this one but im thinking of getting it. I loved DW 3 that was the best one imo

It's definitely not my fav; simply for the fact that you're pretty pigeon-holed into only being able to play a few of the characters to start with (and I don't particularly care for them). You do open up some cooler ones later, though. I think DW4 was my favorite. The graphics are way better in this version though!

easily best game ive ever owned!

This one is my 2nd favorite.  The major overhaul on the graphics engine was much needed, and the new fast paced style of play was a welcome change.

Dynasty Warriors 3 was easily the best though, it had a ton of characters in musou and is a classic.

First DW, so I guess it is my fav. If I do play another, than I'll compare.

DW 3, but I also loved DW4. Played both on my PS2.

This is my favorite cause of the graphics,and character changes,but i loved DW2 cause the Yellow Turban map was GINORMOUS.

It is my favorite because its the first one I had ever played and my husband and I got HOURS of enjoyment out of it.
After playing this one i went out and bought 4 and 5 and also the first PSP one and liked them all. I guess my close second was 5.

The best thing about DW6...well there's a few things.
.
being able to roll away (my husband hates the other games cause you can't do that)
I prefer Zhou Yu with the staff than the sword
the graphics are nice
I found the weapon/horse interface a lot easier to use than the other games

The worst things...
too many clones using the same boring weapon.
They got rid of Zhang He's claws and made him look even girlier and silly.
I miss Sun Ce's Tonfas and Ling Tong's nunchuks.
The fact that they didn't give everyone a Musou mode.

I'd add really bad popup but that's in all the games

Dynasty Warriors 3 & 4 was my favorite coming this 1 to 3rd place

My favorite is definitely Dynasty Warriors 4 on the ps2 im not sure why that just happened to be my favorite.

For me it has to be DW3 - it was the first with 2 player co-op - and the combat was much improved from the 2nd installment - also it had mosou modes for every character.

Every DW's since then has just been basically a cut/copy/paste of DW3 - with little tweaks round the edges.

That said, I've always prefered the Empires games to the standard ones.

And Kessen 2 is probably the best Romance of the Three Kingdoms setting game... I started playing it again the other week on my PS2 and it still holds up.

you sound like me, a die-hard Koei fan.
ive played every DW game from 2-6, including the ones on PSP, Xtreme Legends, and Empires.
Ive played the Samurai Warriors games with the Xtreme Legends expansions.
ive played Kessens 1-3.
Ive played Warriors Orochi.

Out of all these games, the ones that stand out to me are DW3 w/ XL, Kessen 2, and SW2. cant get enough of those 3.

I'm not a fan of the 360 version of DW6. If I'd have to pick my favourite DW game, it'd be DW6 for the PS2. The pop-in is irritating, but the new combat system rocks, I get a story for my favourite warrior, Taishi Ci, and they've restored some of the weapons that made a lot of characters unique. The camera in #6 annoys me, but there's something else, something I can't put my finger on.. It's not the controller because I LOVE WO and the Empires games on the 360, it might be the bodies not disappearing or the swimming.. Or something.. I don't know. I just can't play it on the 360. I've invested over 30 hours on DW6 for the PS2 though. I'm bigger on the Samurai Warriors games, anyways. I LOVE the Warriors series to death.. But the 360 version of DW6 was a let-down for me. Hopefully DW6 Empires will have a few things reworked so that I can enjoy it.

The first game is nothing like the rest of the series.  How can you compare?

Dynasty Warriors 3 is the best game on the PS2.  So basically, yes, that's my favorite one.  Although I do like 6, a lot.

Dynasty Warriors 6 is def..not my favorite.

Definately not my favourite Dynasty Warriors, I'd have to go with DW2 or DW3 because in DW2 the battle of Chang-Ban on Liu Bei's side was probably the greatest of all battles in the series apart from Siege of He Fei Castle.

They kinda messed up the Dynasty Warriors franchise by removing key warriors weapons like Zhang He's awesome Talons and Xiahou Duns Kirin Blade and replacing them with spears. Its just not enjoyable to always play with a spear. In the rest of the games the spear was unique in that only Ma Chao used it.

DW4 by far.I loved having a  cutscene  for just about everything.Also you got 6 costumes and there was like 50 levels.Then when you added extreme legends,man were those level 11 weapons fun to get.

DW 3 was my fav still have it and its a gr8 game, this is my 2nd fav tho with 4 then 5 just behind it

It`s sad that DW 6 has the Musou Mode just for certain charakters. There is no motivation at all to get the 1000 GS. So many charas (like my favorite Ma Chao) have only 101 fighting skills. I cannot compare with the older parts because the 1st one I ve played was DW 5 on xbox1.

I've not played much of DW6, I enjoyed the gameplay yet the new character design and weapons disappoint me alot and it doesn't feel like the same series for me now.

DW2/3 were my favorites, 2 because it was a whole new style of game for me and it amazed me and 3 because it just added more juice from number 2 and put sugar on top with all the new awesome characters and maps.

I don't see why people enjoyed 4 so much because the maps wont that good, most of the maps were very similar and chunks of maps from other maps were intergrated into another map which was lazy work from Koei.

DW5 was still very good, the new musou mode for me was a big + point. I liked this game more than 4 yet less than the oldies, it lacked something which I still can't really point out without comparing it to Samurai Warriors 2 which for me was MUCH better.

I do pray they do not change the Samurai Warriors characters/weapons like they did with Dynasty Warriors. Samurai Warriors 2 was a step in the right direction for the series in my opinion and Dynasty Warriors 6 let me down a little so I hope SW3 don't take the same step.

Thinking back, DW3 was clearly the best of the series.
Just for the simple fact that it had 40+ characters, and each of those characters had their own Musou story mode - consisting of their own story lines through which-ever battles they were involved in... obviously you had the main battles like Chi-Bi or The Yellow Turban Rebellion - but you also had small 'side-missions' such as freeing a town from bandit attacks or fighting off pirate attacks - which gave the feeling that each character had their own story and led their own lives - rather than every one of them all participating in the same 6 or 7 major battles.
I never did play through each characters Mosou mode - there were just too many - and I played that game to death.

naw. its fun, but i prefered DW 3 and 4 by a tiny bit. they took out some cool people, made the weapons more generic, and took out creation mode (however generic those guys were... still pretty cool). its better in some ways, like keeping more people in screen (hated the slash and dissapear method in the previous games, especially on the harder difficulties)... but i liked the individuality and unique weapons (tonfas, dual stick thingies, claw) that DW6 lacks.

It would be nice if they've  included the weapons fusing (first intro in Warrior Orochi 1).
