on the quest where you have to kick your keflings for the greater good I kicked all my keflings and nothing happened

I think there's a bug where you have to kick them when they're on the ground, you can't pick them up and have it work. Or maybe it's vice versa, but either way, try kicking the keflings in the way opposite what you did. :)

You don't have to kick all of em, just ONE.  Just kick him/her around a few times and you will get the complete notification.
