Any better Hold'em games?

DarkMite2 05-08-2009, 3:56 PM
I bought this a while back because I love to play Texas Hold'em. However, I've been really disappointed with the overall quality of the this game's interface and lack of available players. I see other games at Best Buy, like WSOP; Staked & etc...

Are any of the other Hold'em games on the market for Xbox 360 any better quality and more popular?

Yes, I hated the arcade game, I fell asleep waiting for the AI to speed up. I have WSOP, it is the best Hold Em game for Xbox in my opinion, I think they have some cheap used ones at Game Stop. New or Used, its a good game and 10X better than the arcade title.

What about for Xbox Live, if you want to play against other people?

My apologies... I should have been more clear. I dislike this game, even when playing against other real people on Xbox Live Arcade. The music, that plays OVER & OVER, is horrible and the entire interface is pretty lame. The thing that, finally, made me write here is that it is getting harder & harder to find people to play on Live Arcade. I was looking for an different Hold'em game that was still holding its popularity and maybe had better themes.

I enjoy playing at PokerStars on my PC, but I was hoping to use my Xbox so I could talk while playing.

You can turn the music off in the options.  I did that within 30 seconds of firing up the game for the first time.

I typically don't have too many problems finding people to play in the $4,000 buy-in competitive tournaments, and like someone else said you can turn the music off in the options.

The biggest problem I have with this game is the way people tend to get booted from games at random, and people taking advantage of the line-pull.

I wish the AI was faster and I also wish xbox live players were on a stricter time limit.

I guess i should have titled this thread...

Which is the best Hold'em game??

I'm looking to play against people, like pokerstars. This is the only Hold'em title I own and I don' like it. I was looking for suggests for an alternative. (WSOP, World Champion, Stacked & etc...)

I just didn't want to shell out the cash for a different title without any advice. I'd hate to buy one and find out there aren't any people on it. This happens ALOT with arcade titles, especially if they are older.

THANKS!

Golden Royal Omaha and Texas Hold'em is now available on the Community Games Channel. It is only 400 points and you can try it for free.

Both Omaha and Texas are included in the same game and both can be played over Xbox LIVE with up to seven other people. As you earn in-game awards you can even customize your table.

But how good is it, are there enough people playing online to make it really worth it?

I tried it out & didn't care for it. It was limit hold'em, no "no limit". There is a free trial though.

If you have a facebook account, try texas hold'em by zenga. It's free with 9 player tables in different cities. I've been playing for a month and no glitches... just the same donkeys who like to go allin preflop and lose everything.
