I wouldn't say so. I thought FEAR 2 was a pretty darn good game because it actually expands on the rather confusing storyline from the original and just seems to have a better variety of weapons and levels. FEAR Files is still a good game though, too. It doesn't really explain anything about the story since it is just an expansion pack but it has the two mini-campaigns which are pretty fun and the multiplayer has some new features, if you can find anyone to play online with.

Overall, I think FEAR 2 is a slightly better game, but Files might be the best bet for a purchase since you can get it for only around $15-$20 and FEAR 2 is still $50-$60. Hope this helps.

In my opinion Extraction Point/Perseus Mandate is FEAR 2, because Project Origin isn't FEAR at all, or it should have been called FEAR: Project Generic. I rented FEAR 2 just to see what it was like because I had read that it was a pile compared to the first game and all those who say FEAR 2 sucks should hammer nails for a living because they hit that one right on the head.

well i think FEAR 2 is better. Although the horror is lacking. Fear Files have better horror theme and moments.

Well I think it's a little better on single player side. Although the online almost dead thanks to overrated games like Halo 3 and couple others. If you want a big online community than the Pc version is pretty big online. But some people say it shouldn't be called fear 2 I do agree cause the scary guy that is a cannibal at the beggining of FEAR 1 wasn't even in the game. That was the biggest downer for me. Only reason why I consider it a FEAR 2 is cause of the ending other than that it feels like a expansion pack with up'd graphics with iron sights that feel tacked on. (Iron sights Left Trigger zooming in)

I think its a much harder game than FEAR 2, its difficulty is far more like the original FEAR. But its not half as good as FEAR or FEAR 2. Its graphics are terrible at some points, it art design isn't even in the same league as FEAR or FEAR 2 and the level design is also poorly thought out.
