it seems like you cant destroy them, you shoot them and they hunch over, but just come back...is there a way to destroy them?  thanks.

What I do is shoot them twice till they become dizzy, then I run up and punch them.  They'll grab you at this point so rotate the thumbstick to get away.  Repeat once or twice and they're finished.
