Well, since I there's isn't any thread or section where can I post this thread. I might aswell post it in a shmup section, since it's... well, JPN related.

Taken from Wikipedia:
"Record of Agarest War: Re-appearance (アガレスト戦記, Agaresuto Senki) is a strategy role-playing game. The game is a collaboration between Idea Factory, Red Entertainment and Compile Heart.

The story progresses through various points plotted on a map. By visiting each point, the player has to battle the creatures, complete a quest, visit a town or go through a conversation to advance through the storyline and open up more points.

Fighting plays out like a strategic RPG where each character has his/her own set of moves, but by moving each character to an appropriate square, you can chain characters together and pull off combos. After each round of combat, each character will regenerate AP and accumulate SP points. When enough SP points have been accumulated, characters can unleash special attacks.

The game includes dating sim elements through its "Soul Breed" system which allows the player to create a new character by pursuing a relationship with a female character."

I've got the Japanese version of this game and I must say the game looks surprisingly great. Narative dailogues during events makes it satisfying to follow the story. The battle system is similiar to Final Fantasy Tactics (gridwise) & Disgaea (combo).

Soon after I bought the game I found an article that EU will get a release soon. For now it's only stated for the PS3, but I think the 360 will get the translated version afterwards. Both NA & EU.

A rating for Agarest: Generations of War as a PlayStation 3 game popped up in Germany. The name definitely fits. Also, Midas Interactive worked with Idea Factory, the parent company of Compile Heart, in the past by crazily localizing Spectral vs. Generation. The fighting game’s biggest selling point is Neverland characters from Generation of Chaos and Spectral games which were never released in Europe prior to Spectral vs. Generation. Midas Interactive was brazen enough to publish that and localizing Agarest: Generations of War isn’t as weird.

Agarest: Generations of War is a generic strategy RPG that became notable or perhaps, notorious, for its Soul Breed system where you date and mate to make the next generation of heroes. The game got a 12+ rating so it might not be as dirty as it sounds or Midas Interactive cut the suggestive bits. Either way if you’ve been dying to play Agarest Senki you can get the game in Europe sometime in the future."

I think it would have been better if you had made this thread in the Spectral Force 3 forum. Since SF3 is by the same developer and is within the same genre, a thread about Agarest Senki would get far more attention there.

Making a thread about this kind of game in Game Discussion would result in the thread becoming quickly buried by all the other threads and forgotten (in the best-case scenario). At worst, and what would very likely happen, the thread would get trolled (and possibly spark a flame war), which would result in the thread getting locked or deleted.

On the other hand, making a thread about it in the SF3 sub-forum ensures that mainly people who are at least somewhat interested in the genre and/or the developer's other games would see it. Since the sub-forums for such games have less traffic, it's more likely for the thread to stay visible/active longer, and also a lot less likely for it to be trolled.

I hope this makes "sense".

This isn't the "SF3 sub-forum", it's the Ikaruga forum. And also, Ikaruga is a shmup and this new game you're talking about is a JRPG. They're completely different genres of game, so people that see this thread here (and I'm not gonna lie, very very few people still browse this forum) won't even be garunteed to be fans of JRPGs.

Also, why do you care about it getting buried? Almost every thread gets buried eventually.

So, if you don't want to do the sensible thing and post it in Games Discussion, at least post it in a forum of an actual JRPG, like Lost Oddyssey or Final Fantasy XIII.

In my first post in this thread, I advised Kuya Ken to repost this thread in the Spectral Force 3 sub-forum for that very reason.
