A Tekken/VF cross-over would never work. VF is way too complex and sophisticated. Tekken revolves around button-smashing and is less technical. It would be a weird mixture really. Like mixing Need for Speed gameplay with Gran Turismo.
I disagree. I hear what your saying about the game differences, but impossible? no, not really. Like i stated in a previous post, its all about options. Also, while Tekken isnt as "deep" as Virtua, it's FAR from the mindless button masher some people make it out to be. More user friendly? Sure it is. Can you get away with button mashing and win? Ya, you can, more than VF, but a good player will still always beat out a noob...badly too.
Ya, it would be alot of work working out the balancing issues for the games, but it wouldnt be impossible. Its been done before: Fighters Megamix for Sega Saturn. It combined VF and Fighting Vipers...two very different fighting games. They had options for two different fighting systems in the game, and it was balanced pretty well. If AM2 could do it with the Saturn on CD's, I dont see why it couldnt be done on a 360 or PS3 on DVD's.
I am not reallyl holding my breath for it to happen, but if it does, and they get the gameplay right, I would be the first in line to buy a copy.
