I played around 12K hands before I got my first royal flush. I know people who've played over 20K and still have not gotten the royal flush. It also depends on how you play. If you're ultra-conservative, it may take you a longer time to get the hand. If a player plays every hand, they may lose more often, but their opportunities for getting a royal flush increases.

I had 69,000 on my account when I got mine the record I belive is IOO I think who had 78,000 hands when he got his first royal.

I got mine at 76,000 hands. Coincidentally I also got beaten by Royal Flush about 100 hands after playing a multiplayer free tournament.

I am at 65k hands right now, I just turn it on in the morning before I go to work.  I don't think that adverse event ever posted stating that he finally got a royal flush, but I sent him a message and he said he got it at about 90k hands.

I have been playing live & internet poker for years and i have never gotten a Royal Flush, everything else but that

What's the point in trying so hard to get this achievement? And rubberbanding...? c'mon  If 20 G points is that important to you, go play any other game. There's pleanty achievements out there.

I'm technically just making good use of time that I am not able to play anyway.  Working on an achievement even when I'm not home.  :D  I went out of town the other day to see an NFL game and I left it on for two days while I was gone.

I've never had any problems, even when I had an older model.  I have an Elite now and they are pretty rock steady.

It's actually only 10GP, which is rediculus. Should be more like 50. But I guess they made it 10 knowing hardly anybody would get it. I just want it for the 12/12 achievements.

9,250 hands, and still no Royal. Looks like I won't be one of the lucky ones who get it early. :o(

Tournament expert is actually really simple if you follow the basic strategy. The problem is having enough money to buy-in to the higher tourneys.

yea.,. i know. but i get impatient and do stupid things.

 

i've actually found a good way to earn money for the 4k buyin - rather than playing a free tourney , just play the free standard buy-in table and go all in until you win , quit out, take the 400 dollars, rinse, repeat.

Well I got lucky and got my one and only Royal Flush the day after I bought the game, after less than 1000 hands. I had a Ace-high straight after the flop, and was betting like crazy. It got upgraded to a Royal Flush with the river card, but I didn't even notice until the hand was over.

Which makes me wonder, has anyone prevented their Royal Flush from being counted by betting too much and making everyone else fold before the showdown?

Still waiting for my first Straight Flush though...

lol, whenever i have a royal flush draw, i never bet, just call. getting the royal flush recorded onto my stats is more important than any single tourney

a royal flush IS a straight flush, too bad it doesn't count as one on the stats ;>

Last night I got another Royal Flush on the flop!

Flop was A♠ Q♠ J♠ and my hand was K♠ 10♠. I checked/called all the way and got my second Royal Flush.

On the very next hand, I got another ♠ flush on the flop, and it was only one card away from being a Straight Flush (which I have not gotten yet). Now that would have been something...

I won that tournament but then my luck ended: got into a $4000 tournament with my previous winnings and I got disconnected after a few minutes and lost my buy-in.

Am I going to have to build up my bankroll with only free tournaments???
