oh my word....this puzzle!!
i am so stuck on the puzzle in the attic.  i have messed it up so bad and i have no idea how to get it into the right form.  i can't figure out how to reset it.  my other loads are too far back in the game.  i'll be busy for a while.  it stinks because the game is getting really good and intense now and i am anxious to get going.  but no, i'm stuck here making this puzzle.

Re: oh my word....this puzzle!!
the wire puzzle by the hotel was hard.  it wasn't really hard in skill but it was hard because i couldn't make out the colors.  surprisingly, i got it on the first try.  i was really squinting to see the color differences though.  the game is so darn dark.

On the hotel puzzle, you don't need to know the colors.
The wires will always be placed XXI. I believe you get a hint about it before you encounter the puzzle.

Yea for the hotel one you get the clue about the super bowl game i think, and the one in the prison sucks just out of the fact that there are no hints lol.  As for the puzzle in the attic you have to find all of the medals for the military jacket.

Re: oh my word....this puzzle!!
I find it funny how every post reply to this topic is well.. off topic. the original poster wanted help with the atic puzzle as do i. not the hotel puzzle which i found very easy.

With the attic puzzle i tired to solve it myself with no guide and made a complete mess of it. I tried to reload from the graveyard hoping it was reset but its still a mess and iv got no hope of solving it now unless someone can give me a good tip. I really dont want to restart the whole game but if i cant do this then i guess ill have to trade it in.
shame really i was really enjoying this.

Re: oh my word....this puzzle!!
It should reset if you load a previous game. I myself had the same problem, I take pride in solving the game myself so I went at it. Then I started having trouble with it, took a 10 min break and after one hour I finally beat it. If you can't reset it just keep at it, eventually you will start doing something right and find a chance to finally beat the puzzle.

All shall fall before my horde.

Re: oh my word....this puzzle!!
That attic puzzle drove me nuts.  Time and time again I would get the desired picture minus ONE piece over on the opposite side of where it belongs.  Trying to fix the one piece would completely rescramble the whole picture.  Arghh.  Stick out tongue [:P]

If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research.

Fail. You can't leave your house while you're in the hell state. If Im thinking about the puzzle you're talking about (the one with the scrambled pieces) all you have to do is make a shield and sword picture out of the pieces. Bare with me on this:

no piece --> __|     |__ <--- no piece
                   |            |
                   |_______|
alright so there are a total of 7 pieces I believe. It took me about 4-6 moves in order to make the picture of the shield and swords. The key is to plan it out before you work it out but it looks like thats too late. Try and return it to its original form, if you cannot then try planning it out. There is a way to do it no matter how far you have messed up. Try using the "no piece" areas to your advantage. Good luck!

well if that what u thinks and makes u happy that's ok with me

if u take a look the same thing is on top of the book so u can figure it out how to do it after a few movements it's not that hard.

Same here, I didn't like the prison puzzle because really the riddles didn't make much sense other than the coffin one.

Re: oh my word....this puzzle!!
the attic puzzle was by far the hardest for me. every other puzzle was easy, with the exception of the final puzzle. the final puzzle wasnt hard, but it wasnt easy either. even without figuring out the clue in the hotel wire puzzle, i found it really easy. as for the prison puzzles; the knight is the answer because it says no other piece can move like me, my crooked path (or something like that ) every piece in chess moves in a straight line, except for the night, thus the 'crooked path' reference. the other puzzle, the answer is nothing. the poor have it, the rich need it, man favors it over life.... the poor have nothing, the rich need nothing, man favors nothing over life, ect....

Re: oh my word....this puzzle!!
yea I didn't know the order until I kept changing the order

though there's hint for this puzzle

On the table, there's a box where all the metals were in. From left to right that was the order you had to put it

About that puzzle it was not hard to guess what was the picture

In the first one says:
"I stand beside the holy man,
The monarchs fear my wrath,
None may move the way I can,
Ever the crooked path."

The clue is in that it refers to 'chess' as you se the horse is the only piece that doesnt move in one only direction, but into an "L", also it is placed at the start next to bishop (holy man).

The second one says:
"The man who devised it,
Does not want it.
The man who bought it,
Does not use it.
The man who used it,
Does not realize it."

As you said, yes, this one was preatty easy, any dead can buy a coffin as they are dead, and the man who is using it doesnt realize he is using it as he is dead already.

And the last one:
"What man loves more than life,
Fears more than death or mortal strife.
What poor men have, the rich acquire,
And all contended men desire
What miser spend and the wastrels save
And each man carries to his grave?"

No man loves anything else more than life, noone fears more than death, poor men doesnt have anything, the miser is a miser he spends nothing, and when you die you dont take anything with you to your grave. So the answer would be nothing

You need common sense, and split the text phrase by phrase to catch it, also looking at the possible answers gives you a range to think.

The only puzzle that was hard for me, and took me about half game to catch, was dodge and attack, lol.

Back to topic, well I dont know how to reset the puzzle beside loading from a previous save, but dont give up the tries just keep rotating pieces, it will come eventually. good luck.
