TrueSkill rankings?
While the system is simply amazing, it annoys me that I can't seem to find a way to check my trueskill ranking. Is there any way to do it, either on the web or on Call of Duty itself? I've heard of people seeing it when they play some of the other games, but I don't have them and was hoping it would show up somewhere, much like Halo's ranking system, while playing the game. Is there any way to check it in the game COD 2, on the Dashboard, or on the web?

To tell you the truth, I don't think there is a rank to see. I play in TrueSkill ranked games all the time, but I don't see a rank.

There is suppose to be a ranking but no one else knows. Once thought some guy was talking about how you find it, but everybody was talking so I couldn't hear him. Something to do with the LB button or something.

Re: TrueSkill rankings?
When you play in Online Career Mode in PGR 3 you can see your TrueSkill ranking while you are in the lobby waiting. For example I believe I am currently an Novice(6). What does that mean? I'm not really sure. I scanned through some of the details of the TrueSkill system, but I could find a clear explanation of the different ranks. The info is here if you haven't seen it yet: http://research.microsoft.com/mlp/trueskill/default.aspx

Re: TrueSkill rankings?
There is no ranking system. I think there should be, but nothing like halo. It should be stored in an xbox live database which would block the user from viewing it. This way you play people at your skill level. Having visable levels causes several of the following things to happen, modders, stand by ers, people stop playing because they dont want to lose their level, unsportman like gameplay. These are things that ruin xbox live and are mostly removed because of the fact that there is no visable ranking system. It was a great idea!!!

Re: TrueSkill rankings?
Hey I agree I would love to find out how to find out what my rank is...maybe we should all just search around for it on the internet by going to google and stuff. That would be pretty easy or maybe someone made a website that we can find these ranks. I dont agree with the guy that said it is a good idea to keep them unseen because when we do see them then it makes us more competitive and more skilled at it. So whatever. But anywase there is also the unranked one so if ppl dont want to lose there levels then they go play that or just level down and then start over again. So yeah, I think that somewhere out there we could find our ranks...trust me

More competitive usually means more cheaters/droppers.  Do we really want COD to turn into Halo 2?  I know I don't.

Re: TrueSkill rankings?
Hate to bring this up, but that guy said modders as if they were bad. That sounds like ignorence. Just because you ran into a spoiled apple doesn't mean the entire orchard is bad.

The entire TrueSkill thing is driving me nuts. There is some form of number or graph floating around the internet right now that states what my TrueSkill ranking is. If I need to spend my life finding it, well damnit, I will. But I need to find it.

Doesn't matter if COH has the TS ranking posted or not, many games use it, its just trying to find it that sets the problem. Away I go to google to find this mysterious number.

Re: TrueSkill rankings?

I have searched the web and found not a smidgen of evidence that there is a way to view your TrueSkill rankings.  I can't believe the statement that there is no ranking at all, because that would mean that TrueSkill is simply a useless lie concocted by the "powers that be" at Microsoft to confuse us into posting matter related statements on their website.

I thought it was stupid at first, but after hearing the arguement that it makes us play with less cheaters and modders make enough sense to convince me that I'm glad I can't see my rank.  I love to play the game (any for that matter), and love to play against skilled and respectful players.  This is in no way a bash on modders, because I am also one. But I don't mod playing live opponents.  You were right call out the guy who put modders in bad light, cuz it is ignorance; but it wasn't said unfairly.  Modders are often the cause of crappy games.  There are people that can talk smack, sing during gameplay, or purposely leave the mic hot when they're talking on the phone or to friends... but there is always a game to put your money where your mouth is.  Can't be done when someone is cheating.  Staying to finish a game with a cheater means losing points in most ranking systems.  The modders wins and the other doesn't.  That sucks when your not the guy/girl who's modding.

Regardless of how I feel about the rankings... let me know if you ever find 'em. :)

Re: TrueSkill rankings?

the only evidence i have had of trueskill is after a match on perfect dark zero online and when the lobby thing re-opens (jus after match), and it tells you all people's places in the game, well in the collumn to the right the is trueskill. so far this is the only way i have managed to find my trueskill :) , hope this helps......... and if it doesn't then go eat a pie that will help :)      =]

Re: TrueSkill rankings?

You seriously can not find the rankings for COD2. They are not available yet. They do have rankings in COD3 but to join a ranked match takes a VERY LONG TIME. I heard they came out with a patch for COD3, but I haven't played it in a while so I don't know yet. I'm upset about them not having rankings for the game becuase I am pretty good at it and I too like comparing myself with other gamers.
