Silent Hill 2: Inner Fears on Xbox 360 question

I’ve played Silent Hill 2: Inner Fears on the original Xbox but never finished it because my hard drive crashed.

When I try to play the game on my Xbox 360 the screen stays black. I do hear sound however when I press buttons on the controller.

Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance!

My Xbox 360 is an Elite, which is connected to a HD Ready television set through HDMI. It runs in 720p widescreen.

(Sorry that I posted this in the Silent Hill Homecoming forums but I couldn't find forums for Silent Hill 2: Inner Fears on Xbox.com)

I don't think its one of the games capatible with the Xbox 360, however I think I saw Silent Hill 4 on the list.

Thanks for your reply! I didn't get a notification that it wasn't supported and my Xbox was downloading an update after I inserted the game, so it seems to be supported and I know that Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams (The US version) is, that version can be found on this list. But I guess I shouldn’t bother because I found this page yesterday and it seems that there are a lot of other issues as well.

I don't know if Silent Hill 4 is an option. I already bought Silent Hill Homecoming as a substitute for Silent Hill 2 but it is a completely different experience. I will wait until they fix the emulator for Silent Hill 2 or, even better, wait until they (hopefully) release a remake for the Xbox 360.

O, and check this thread where someone is mentioning exactly the same problem with the version of Silent Hill 2 that I have. No solution is given.

Well after I posted my reply to your question I thought of another possibility. Your video cable may not be tightly secured... try turning off the Xbox 360 Console and make sure all of your cables are tightly secured, then turn your Xbox on again and insert the game. If thats not the case then I really do not have any idea. Maybe an update for the game screwed it up?

Thanks for your reply. I have tried that and also took the game to a friend with a console without HDMI and with a normal (SD) tv just to be sure but we got the same results. We can hear sound but the screen stays black.
