User community level FAQ

The community level that appears in the bottom left corner of the Gamercard helps differentiate the different forum user types (IE: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/forums/iconsandlevels.htm) and rank regular users using a variety of different community-related factors. While post count plays a role (experienced and knowledgeable posters who contribute positively a lot to the boards and the community deserve this to be reflected in their Gamercard), it is not the only factor in the equation. Each user's post content, general "attitude" and level of knowledge will ultimately impact their community level. Much like the forum icons, specific community levels can be attributed or adjusted by the forums moderators and/or the Xbox Team on an "as deserved" basis.

Posting a lot of short answers or irrelevant responses to increase post count in an attempt to "boost" the community level will be considered as spamming and can potentially result with the posts deleted and the community level adjusted accordingly. The fastest and surest way to achieve a higher community level is to consistently be helpful to others, respect the Terms Of Use and the Code of Conduct and focus on post quality rather than quantity.

Inquiries about decisions made to the community level must only be sent out the moderators directly via the "report a post" feature.

Forums Icons FAQ

Here’s the official Guide to the new Xbox.com forums with a description of the icons that are currently available. The purpose of this thread is to respond to the large number of requests that is being posted across the forums.

What’s most important about the icons?

You do not ask for them. All the icons will be attributed by the forums moderators and the Xbox Team on an “as deserved” basis. Everybody’s chance to earn these icons started fresh on 10/27 when the new forums launched. No previous post history, contribution or participation will be taken into consideration during the evaluation process, so posting about it will simply be considered as spam and treated as such.

What about the Beta Tester icon and the Founding member icon?

The deadline to officially request your Beta icon with Major Nelson was 05/10/21. This project is currently on hold and new information will be provided as soon as it is made available.

The deadline to officially request your Founding Member icon with Trixie was 05/10/21. These icons have already been successfully attributed.
