Re: are there still people playing this online?
Yes, we have a great community online. Check out pgrnations.com for the Tourney info. We have custom matches with many variations, Ranked Matches and single player modes. It is less SIM oriented than Forza. Physics are pretty good with lots of variatoin in car handling. If you want to tune your cars, go to Forza, if you want to race, come to PGR 4.

I play it online a lot but Matchmaking in a party of more than one can take forever. I'm suprised they haven't sorted that out. :(

There are still some people playing this game, but numbers are dwindling as you would expect with a game that has been out for a while now.

It shouldn't have dwindled that quickly.  I found 2 rooms tonight on PGR 4 and 2 rooms on PGR 2, a game that's now 5 years old.

there's probably still plenty of people doing ranked matches, player matches weren't that popular anyway

I have the exact opposite experience with PGR' ranked matches/matchmaking.  The only time I get in a room is player matches.

Single player ranked matches still have good access for matchmaking these days. On the other hand, awful long wait for Championship ranked matches to populate!!....Where have all the good times gone??  Angry [:@]

Re: are there still people playing this online?
It's a shame this question even needed to be asked about a series that was crucial for the launch of the original Xbox (PGR 1), the launch of Xbox LIVE (PGR 2) and  the launch of the 360 (PGR 3).  It's a sad state of affairs.

Re: are there still people playing this online?
I still play, find it easy to get into single player events (ranked). Team events are harder to get into, it has always been this way, even when it first came out it was hard to get into matches taking up to 15 minutes usualy around 5-10, sometimes quickly, just depends. If you are playing from the U.S. the best time to find a game is around 5, or during the day. The majority of racers on this game are not from the U.S. So the Brits are usally on around this time. In my experience, the later you play the less likely you are to find consistantly quick race starts.

i occasionally have problems finding a single player event ranked match....depends on the time of day.  there are always non ranked lobbies to join though
