Cutting Players
I just learned a valuable lesson, when you cut your roster, do not let the computer pick for you.  I got fired after the 3rd game of the season because I accepted the suggestions as to who to cut.  I put the team in teribble shape with the salary cap and got fired!  My team was 2-1 after 3 games.  I thought it was pretty good.  I was the Dolphins and only lost to the Patriots by 2.

Re: Cutting Players
Yeah, you don't always want to let the GM choose who gets cut during pre-season, sometimes they cut the wrong players. Best thing to do is make sure you save your game after each pre-season game. When you get to the "Cut Day", just take a note of how many players you need to cut. Exit out, and reload your last save. Then go through your roster yourself and cut the players. Then when the "Cut Day" comes up on the clipboard, you will have already cut the players you wanted to, and you can skip the option.

Another way to do it is have some paper and a pen handy, and take notes on who you want to cut. Then when the "Cut Day" comes, just refer to your notes for your cuts. The real problem is when you are in that screen, you can't view any of the players stats, so unless you've written things down or memorized who sucks, you are cutting blind.

Re: Cutting Players
Might as well, you can't get some of the achievements without a created coach. No sense wasting wins on an existing coach.

Re: Cutting Players
I don't let my assistant coaches do anything on my team for me. They just mess it all up and when you let them call plays, you might as well be ready for a loss.

Depends on their skillset. I let my OC and DC call all my plays now, and they do a pretty good job. I only step in if I'm bored or if I want to try something out. Mind you I did a lot of skill buying for them over a few seasons. It wasn't always like that.

Re: Cutting Players
Why I'm I not good at cutting players?

Because I might cut the wrong player and get fired by the GM.

Re: Cutting Players
It isn't that they don't have good skill sets or aren't high ranked. It's just simply that I myself like to choose the plays and calls during the game.

I will let them run practice and do all of that good stuff.

As for cutting players, you just have to go with the right player at the right time. If you sign someone to a big contract and then cut him the next year with 4 years left on his contract. Of course you will get cut, the GM does not like this as it will sometimes cause issues with the salary cap.

I would either trade those that have big contracts or if you have some who are free agents at the end of the season. It would be ok to get rid of them before the season is over with or let them become free agents.

Re: Cutting Players
I would have to pop the game into my 360 to check that out for you. Right now I don't have my 360 as it is in for repair at this time.

Re: Cutting Players
What wrong with your xbox 360?

I only have my xbox 360 repaired once and still going strong.

Is playing my xbox 360 for 24 hours a bad idea?

Re: Cutting Players
It ended up getting that red ring of death and I had to send it in to get it replaced or fixed. Whatever they are doing these days as I hear they mostly just send back a refurb unit half the time.

Anyway, I would assume playing it 24 hours a day isn't a bad idea. As long as you don't have it in a small area and it has the air to let it breath, you know what I mean?

It'll burn up easily or overheat if you don't watch that stuff.

Agreed, I use a Pen and Pad, and write down the players i don't mind cutting! or position that am solid in so i can cut the lower level players! but always remember your draft picks name if you like the pick!
