I've tryed and tryed, short of putting pipes next to them and blasting them out of their misery, anyone else know the 'key' cobination to save the Chicks? o_O

I vaguely recall being able to. They'd disapear like being teleported.

It's called administering a swift kick of Duke's mighty boot to the poor whoree's mangled face. Works every time, the only way the Duke can ever get the job done.

You're absolutely right on that. However, the "Saving the Chicks" was apart of Duke Nukem 64. Nintendo took a big risk with Duke Nukem, due to it's clearly questionable content at the time. They were seemingly cool with most of everything from Duke Nukem 3D - aside from 2 things. One of them being the ability to 'kill women'. That was a BIG no no for Nintendo at the time. So they compromised -- Duke won't kill them...so he can save 'em. Not a bad compromise really. However, Microsoft, thankfully, brought us the ORIGINAL of Duke Nukem...Duke 3D - infamous on MSDOS. So you can't "save" chicks in this version. Although, I will admit - it'd be fun to have an option - gives you more reason to play the game over. Get 100% on chick saving!
