Riding the Lynth with Battler's Blade - useful tip
I found this by mistake, there's no clue anywhere about it and it helped me tremendous in getting the Battler's Blade achievements.

When you ride the Lynth (it only applies to the Lynth looks like), you can swing your blade by pressing Left Stick Down. That way you can kill anything (from little guys to huge mounted ones) in one swing, without all that crazy jumping.

I was trying for about 3 days (2-3 hours each day) to do it on Dyiar Highlands, first level and I just couldn't past the last part; but since I discovered this, it was a breeze.

Anyway, did anyone ever get to unlock the Golden Axe (100,000,000 tribute)? I'm curious what it does.

Also anybody has a table of how much tribute you need to get on a level to get an A+?
your does not mean you are but you're does

Thanks for the tip!  I've been struggling to complete that same level.  I'll give it a try tonight.

As for the Golden Axe, according to a post on Xbox360achievements.org, the axe confers the following benefits:  gives a 50%+ in damage, health regen and spells cost less."  I'm actually pretty close to unlocking it, so if I actually do it I'll verify it and let you know.

Unfortunately, it seems the amount of points ("tribute") you need to get on each level to score an A+ is different.  I don't know of any resource that lists the necessary amount for each level.  If you haven't noticed yet, at the end of the level, it will list how you did, along with the "par" for the level in parenthesis.  If you meet those goals, you get a bonus.  Best bet is to meet those goals and play on at least "expert" difficulty.

I always play on "Brutal" difficulty but sometimes not even that (along with everything x2) will grant you an A+. E.g. on Firstborn, if you don't get any money from the knights or pikemen, you won't get a A+. Just C. Also if you play the level for money (Living Sacrifices), even if you play it on Normal, with lots of damage and lots of time, with huge amount of money you will still get a A+.

So, in the end the only thing that matters is how much your final tribute is. Just like in Devil May Cry 4.

I've tried the level before the fortress (Highland Fortress - Captain's camp) about 30 times till I finally finished it just to get a C. Using the Dragon Statue = not good as Taking damage = x1 instead of x2.

That's why I asked if anybody has any idea of how much does the tribute has to be so I can check myself while playing (from stats screen).

I got A+ on Death=Adder last night playing on "Expert."  Just had to finish within the time limit and make sure to collect all the treasure boxes.

Oh, not dying helped too.

Figuring out that (in his Titan form) his tail attack was an 'orange' attack and a claw attack was a 'blue' attack made not dying much easier.  He also has a sort of jumping attack where you must also jump - twice.

On one attempt I received a crazy amount of tribute once I took down Adder's first form.  Not sure why, and it didn't happen again.  A mass of red and blue jewels flowed into Tyris after Adder transformed.  I thought it might be because I had titan bonus modifier when I took him down, but I later disproved that theory, so I got nothin'.  Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful in defeating Adder on that try, so I didn't even get to keep the tribute...
