I played about 15 ranked matches today, about 12 were either kilik or cervantes. No joke. Can anybody actually play as anybody else or are we having a "i'm so pro because I can teleport and use someone who takes 5 minutes to learn the how to use" pandemic?
When I first started playing (off line), I really
wanted to be Mitsurugi. I have a kenjitsu and kendo background, so my first half dozen custom characters were based on this style. I discovered Kilik and have not gone back. ...maybe his moves are easier to learn, I don't know either way. I defeated the tower of lost souls with this style only, not using any 'tricks' or 'spams', but only a patient and thoughtful fighting style using what I call a "bo", although it is more likely a "gun" due to Kilik being trained in a Chinese style and not a Japanese style. I hope you take no issue with my fighting style. I do not always win. I just started playing on line and have about a 60% win ratio in ranked Regular Versus. In Special Versus I have zero wins and 10 losses. :( :)
My point is this. People have the freedom to be whichever character they choose and it's based on personal preference. People have some goofy appearances, too, but that is also personal preference. I look at every match as a challenge and respectfully thank the other person when the match is over. Trash talking is not my thing and neither is complaining. It is just a game, after all. :) A very cool game, mind you, but not important enough to cause any rifts among people. Maybe that's idealistic, but who said idealism is a bad thing LOL. If you hate those two fighting styles so much, then just hold the X ball down and exit when you see that style chosen. I would consider that a rude thing to do, but so is criticizing another person's free will and choice about a game character they choose to be without having walked a mile in their tabi. :)
...just one guy's opinion.
