Player Match - Why Retire on 1st Lap?

Whats with people retiring and leaving on the 1st lap in a player match, I see more and more people doing it, and tbh its staring to get on my nerves.

they retire in rank matched so that there true skill ranking is not lowered by the lose but i see no reason why they would in a player match as it does not change any of your on line stats you should play rank match then the win will count for somthing :)

Well Reaper ... you embarrass people :)

I wouldn't mind doing some Drift with you in Player Match man.  But on Remus .. so that we are drifting together..  I hate the "Drifting By Yourself" feature set up on most road drift events.
