Why do people like Elves so much?

I personally don't like them that much, my favorite is the Human. Elves die from a simple 2 head shots from a RIFLE. The only reason I can think of is for a good ressurector, even though none of them even buy ressurect.

I think it is because most people are used to the auto heal. Therefore, new players tend to learn elf first. It takes more time to get used to healing from trees.

I stick with troll. I have time to reload while being shot by an SMG and still live. Also, I can get bled out, kill the elf, put up a tree, and keep playing. I used to play as an elf all the time though, and did res a lot.

My question is, why do all the campers use elf?

I play elf for several reasons...

Firstly, it suits my style of play the best... I tend to be a hit and run player.. getting in, killing then run away. Second the self healing is awesome. The speed is also handy.

and res I'm a big fan of ressing.

Not a big fan of the Elf myself. They are to weak. I like to be in the fight up close
and personal. Elves are panzies !! Always back stabbing and running away.
I use Human and with the right use of Wired and Tele can keep up with most
elves. Pot shot every once in a while while they run away and they cant heal.
It is probably the auto heal more than anything.

well, that's the great thing about this game, isn't it?

there is a class to suit peoples style of play.

I myself like the elf when it is used properly, I don't use it often, as I tend to get "stuck" in the middle of firefights a lot, so I tend to die more quickly than I already do. But when the mood hits, I do play elf.

I know not with what weapons WW-III will be fought, but WW-IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

I hate playing elf. I like to have some chance of surviving a firefight without having to run away. The only reason I like elf is rezzing and then I usually just pick dwarf.

I play mostly as a human now, but I previously played as an elf for a year. Elves are great for rezzing and running in and out of battles.

Most people can alright with an elf, but there are some people out there that use the hit and run techniques to own in games. I play with S3 Shadow who dominates with elves every match. He plays so well with an elf that I hate playing against him. He uses smartlink, tele, glider and gust I believe to speed across the maps.

Someones Community Level Dropped from 4 to 3. Uh oh.

The reasosns are as follows:
1) self healing, after most of this generations games have this auto healing feature people are used to it and rely on it, so playing in an older style where you need health is alien to them
2) Campers believe they will kill anyone before they can cause much damage to them as an elf hence they camp near hiding spots to take cover heal and attack again, shame they dont realise a Dwarf with a sniper rifle doesnt go down in 1 hit like other races so you can wipe out 3-4 camper as a Dwarf before being killed

Some of the best players I've played with play as elves (has anyone played with Tameri? He goes like 20-3 every game, plays as an elf).

I hate dieing to humans even when I get the drop on ppl, so I dont play as an elf. Troll Patrol 4 life

Elves are the best for escaping with teleport and auto heal, they are best at gust-gliding and the best for rezzing.

Tameri is the best Sniper i have ever seen on SR, u dont want to play against him on big maps.

I played with that kid (Tameri) on Temple Grounds and I couldnt get out of lineage spawn, Id just get dropped.

I play troll, I can get in an SMG fight, reload, kill the kid, and still have half health. Ninja Troll is dope as *** too.

You don't want to play WITH him either. He team kills and does other juvnile stuff like in a game with a 5 to 5 round score..... grab the artifact.... run it to the other teams score zone... hand it over to them..... and watch them walk it in.

As you get better you will realize that body clearing to much ruins the game. Dont you get annoyed when your 5-0 down no one has rez but the insist in clearing your body?

I agree, there is no reason to clear bodies if you are way ahead, but the flipside is that it is part of the game, and that is why the karma system makes it take longer, to balance the game out more.

The bigger problem is the second part of your comment; when nobody on the team has rez. Seriously, everyone but Trolls should have rez by the 3rd-4th round (I always buy it first round), and everyone should have it by 5th round especially if you are losing badly, that can mean the difference in the outcome of a game...

I know not with what weapons WW-III will be fought, but WW-IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

I just played with Tameri yesterday @ Temple Grounds. Yes, the kid is good @ sniping. I've also played with Eameri.

He always gets friends in a party on his side and then they team kill everyone. It makes me laugh whether they kill me or I join them. When hes not fooling around he is really good. Too bad he always is goofing off.

In the real world people clear bodies all the time, even in attrition(ZOMG NOES!). It's an important part of the game and more people should do it. Just because it ruins the game for YOU doesn't mean everyone else needs to stop.
If you don't want your body cleared you should stop dieing so much, when you get better at the game you'll realize how to do that.

This game is not about winning. This is a game where you want to have as much fun as possible, if there were leaderboards/stats where winning meant something then it would be fine to body clear. If u seriously have to clear bodys to win that just proves how bad you are.

Im sure im not the only one who gets annoyed, listen to your team mates in a game and hear how annoyed they get when there body gets cleared.

Don't get me wrong, I'm normally not one to clear bodies (I have more fun killing people again and again each time they're rezzed.)

I think the main problem is the feeling that getting rezzed is some sort of entitlement, and that by clearing you they're robbing you of your second life. But its not, and in actuality, you're only entitled one life. The one the game gives you that at the beginning of each round.

You should think of getting only one life as the norm (which it is.) And when someone doesn't clear you, and you happen to get rezzed, you should be grateful that the other team was kind enough to allow you to have this second life.

For the record I get cleared all the time and I don't blame the guy doing it. I blame myself for dieing away from my team or my team for not rezzing me. The reason I get cleared fast is because I usually have the most rezzes on my team. I know that invites body clearing and I accept that. Some people even clear me while my team is shooting at them.
Another reason to clear bodies is to cut off the other teams ability to see around that body. If I'm healing nearby I don't want the dead guy to inform his team. I know you prefer to lose but some of us use strategy to win. Deal with it.

Btw when I listen to my team complaining about stuff REZ is the biggest issue. Not enough people buy it and not enough people understand how important it is. It's hard to clear bodies if they're getting rezzed right away.

Tameri. None of those are reasons to team kill. Call a vote if you don't like the way someone plays. If the vote doesn't go your way... leave the room and find one more to your liking. The ONLY reason for team killing is in self defense against a team killer until you can get them voted out.

I think that the prominent factor that makes Shadowrun so fun is how competitive it is. IMO, clearing bodies just takes away some of the challenge that so many of us actually enjoy and thrive on.

There are a FEW circumstances where I will clear bodies.

1. a newb linker....... I will clear a newb linker every chance I get.

2. In the first round when I think that extra 50-100 will allow me to get my second power before the beginning of the second round... and even then it will be a body that has been laying for a while and it's pretty clear noone is coming to rez them.

3. When my team is behind by three or more rounds.

IMO, not clearing bodies is the MUCH better strategy. I just lay in wait for the rezzer.... then kill the rezzer (after he rezzes) and the bleeder. Voila.... I have just turned ONE kill into THREE kills, earned much more money AND taken out one of the other teams most valuable assets.... a rezzer.

When my body does get insta-cleared though... I just try to take it as a compliment. NOTHING says "I am too scared to fight you again" quite like having your body cleared the instant it hits the floor.

I only clear bodies if my team is loosing. When its tied or we are winning, I do not clear bodies.
