NASCAR 2008 Achievement Guide
Hi, I’m x QuickScop3 but you can call me Quick for short . I will be giving you some helpful advice for unlocking the achievements in NASCAR 2008. There are 24 achievements that equal 1000G. Let’s start out with the name of the achievements and the amount of points each achievement is worth. The achievements will go in order for the amount of points each is worth. 1. Keep on Truckin’- 10G 2. National Hero- 10G 3. Badge of Honor- 10G 4. Custom Car Creator- 10G 5. Heavy Medal- 10G 6. We’re Talkin’ About Practice- 10G 7. Trade Your Setup- 10G 8. 3 Wide- 10G 9. Today or Tomorrow?- 10G 10. Play it Again, Sam.- 10G 11. Chase for the Cup- 25G 12. Earn Your Stripes- 25G 13. Independent Contractor- 25G 14. Online Horsepower- 25G 15. Licensed to Drive- 25G 16. Craftsman Tools Award- 50G 17. Toyota Reward- 50G 18. Sprint Reward- 75G 19. Full Throttle- 100G 20. Cross Country- 100G 21. Pay the Bills- 100G 22. We Don’t Need No Badges!- 100G 23. Chase Champion- 100G 24. All or Nothing- 100G Now that I have listed the achievements for you, I will give you some tips to get these in the easiest way. Note: If any achievements are capable of achieving through a glitch, am not responsible for you not unlocking the achievement.• Keep on Truckin’- Win a Craftsman Truck Series race. This can be done in any mode. I would prefer Race Now mode so you can alter your race settings. The race can be on any difficulty, race length, damage, and flag settings. • National Hero- Win a Nascar National Series race. See Keep on Truckin’ • Badge of Honor- Complete a Driver Badge. Each driver badge requires certain tasks to be completed to obtain it. The first one is Denny Hamlin’s. To complete this badge you must:  Win the Pennsylvania 500 even( it must be a full field)  Get two top 10 wins • Custom Car Creator- Create a Custom Car for all racing series. Simply create a custom paint scheme for at least 1 car in each class. The quickest way to do this is to go to Nextel Cup, pick a car and change its number. Go back to car selection, pick Car of Tomorrow and change its number, and repeat for Craftsman Truck Series and Nascar National Series. • Heavy Medal- Win a medal in “The Chase” mode. Play “The Chase” mode and simply complete 1 license challenge. All you need is Bronze to unlock the achievement. • We’re Talkin’ About Practice- Record a lap in the Toyota “Test and Tune” mode. Go into Toyota Test and Tune mode and complete one full lap. As soon as you cross the line, the achievement should unlock. • Trade Your Setup- Upload a car setup to your EA Locker. Simply save a car setup at any time and then visit the EA Locker in Online mode. Upload your setup to the locker and the achievement will unlock. • 3 Wide- Earn three gold medals in “The Chase” mode. Earn three gold medals in your License tests. There is a glitch that makes this achievement very easy to do. I am not sure if this works but you can test it out. Go into a Follow the Leader challenge and choose gold. As soon as you get the green flag, go to the left a little and then turn hard right into the outside wall. You will get a terminally damaged car and if done before your time runs out, you will also receive a passed message. Do this two more times; you can quickly get all three. • Today or Tomorrow- Win a Nascar Car of Tomorrow race. See Keep on Truckin’ • Play It Again, Sam. - Save a race replay. This can be done during or after a race. Simply go into replay mode and save a clip or the full replay. • Chase for the Cup- Win a championship in Season mode using the Car of Tomorrow Series full schedule. Go into Season mode and pick Car of Tomorrow. Set the opponents as low as they can go. Now pick a good driver (e.g. Jeff Gordon) and simulate the whole season. You will hopefully have the points lead, or be very close. Just race the last race to ensure you win the points. Then the trophy and achievement are yours. • Earn Your Stripes- Earn a Contract in “The Chase” mode. Complete all of the requirements in one of the six licenses and the achievement will unlock. • Independent Contract- Earn a Contract in “The Chase” mode. Once a License is completed, you will be given the opportunity to accept a Contract. Just complete the contract by completing each racer’s requirements to unlock this achievement. • Online Horsepower- Win an online race. The easiest way to do this is to start a Private match with only 2 AI (opponents) and then start the race. Simply beat the AI and you’re done. • Licensed to Drive- Complete all Licenses in “The Chase” mode. Just finish all sets of Licenses with a bronze medal or higher. • Craftsman Tools Award- Save a Craftsman Tools Car Setup at any track. You don’t even need to make adjustments to your car. When you are at the car setup screen, simply save the default setup and the achievement will unlock. • Toyota Reward- Complete all Toyota Challenges. Much like the license challenges. Just go into the Toyota Challenge and get at least a bronze on each one. • Sprint Reward- Win a Nextel Cup in Season mode using the Nextel Cup Series ’07 Schedule. See Chase for the Cup. • Full Throttle- Complete a 100% length race in Race Now mode or Season mode. This can be done in any series and any settings. But make sure the race length is at 100%. The easiest way to do this is to put it to the Nascar National Series at Bristol Motor Speedway. Put the AI (opponents) on easy and complete the race. It is 250 laps and may take somewhere near an hour. If that is not the least amount of laps for that track, switch between each series and look at the amount of laps each track is and find the least as it will make it easier. Another tip would be to turn the damage off so you could always run into opponents and not ruin your car. • Cross Country- Drive 5,000 total miles. This can be achieved in either Online or Offline. Races and practices will count towards your mileage, however, Toyota testing, challenges, and licenses do not. You can check your total mileage by going to your game progress in the Main Menu. • Pay the Bills- Complete all contracts in “The Chase” mode. First, you need to complete all of your licenses in order for you to unlock all contracts. Then complete all of the requirements for all six drivers. • We Don’t Need No Badges- Earn all driver badges. Badges are unlocked one at a time and must be completed before you continue to the next. They also must have a field of 43 cars (a full field). The requirements for the badges are: 1. Denny Hamlin a) Win the Pennsylvania 500(Pocono) b) Get two top 10 finishes 2. Juan Montoya a) Get 10 slingshot passes b) Win the Allstate 400(Indy) c) Get three top 5 finishes 3. Tony Stewart a) Win the Nextel Cup at Watkins Glen Speedway b) Win 7 races c) Get ten top 5 finishes d) Get 10 spin recoveries 4. Ryan Newman a) Win the following events: -Autism Speaks 400(Dover) -Lexon Tools 300(New Hampshire) b) Lead a total of 30 laps c) Stay in draft 8 times/8 seconds 5. Jeff Gordon a) Win the following events: -Subway 500(Martinsville) -Toyota/Save Mart 350(Infineon) b) Gain 15 spots 10 times c) Recover from spins 20 times d) Stay in draft 15 times/15 seconds 6. Kasey Kahne a) Win the following events: -Kobalt Tools 500(Atlanta) -UAW-Daimler Chrysler 400(Las Vegas) b) Gain 15 spots 10 times c) Get 10 total wins d) Pass 30 A.I. cleanly 7. Matt Kenseth a) Win the Food City 500(Bristol) b) Get 12 total wins c) Get 30 spin recoveries d) Pass 50 A.I. cleanly e) Stay in draft 10 times 8. Kevin Harvick a) Win the Bank of America 500(Lowe’s) b) Finish top 5--17 times c) Gain 15 spots 30 times d) Get 30 spin recoveries e) Pass 500 A.I. cleanly f) Stay in draft for 10 seconds/times 9. Kurt Busch a) Win the following events: -Dickies 500(Texas) -Ford 400(Homestead-Miami) -NASCAR Nextel Cup Series 500(California) -3M Performance 400(Michigan) b) Lead a lap 60 times c) Gain 15 spots 30 times d) Get 40 spin recoveries 10. Elliot Sadler a) Pass A.I. cleanly 79 times/Pass 79 A.I. cleanly b) Gain 5 spots 40 times c) Gain 15 spots 25 times d) Slingshot Pass 50 times 11. Jimmie Johnson a) Win the following events: -Aarons 499(Talladega) -Pepsi 400(Daytona) b) Get 20 total wins c) Gain 15 spots 20 times d) Stay in draft 15 times/seconds 12. Dale Earnhardt Jr. a) Win the following events: -Checker Auto Parts 500(Phoenix) -Chevy Rock & Roll 400(Richmond) b) Get 20 total wins c) Gain 15 spots 15 times d) Take the lead 75 times e) Pass the A.I. cleanly 99 times/Pass 99 A.I. cleanly f) Lead 99 laps total CLEAN PASS NOTE: In order for the pass to be considered “clean”, collisions must be On. My friend told me to choose Talladega and run the high line (right next to the outside wall) because none of the computers will run that line and you can still get a good draft. Gain “X” AMOUNT OF SPOTS NOTE: Since you can only get this once per race (even if you start 43rd and gain 42 spots), the best way to do this is start a Play Now race in 43rd and race until you make your way up to at least 28th, then quit and repeat. You still get credit for gaining positions even though you quit. • Chase Champion- Win a NEXTEL Cup in “The Chase” mode Finish the season in first place during “The Chase” mode. Any settings may be used for this. • All Or Nothing- Reach 100% game progress You must complete all modes of play including, Licenses, Toyota Challenges, Contracts, Driver Badges, and a full season in “The Chase” mode. See the guides for the items listed above. All thanks goes to friends for the info on each achievement. If you have any questions please post and I will do my best to answer them. I apologize for not having color. It won't let me change color or font when I want to type a post.
