When you use New Game+ for a second playthrough, what transfers from the first playthrough to the second?

You mean what you keep? Well, I'd say mainly everything. Levels, shadow levels, equipment (all but some few accessories that can be got only once; I can't remember which ones, as I played it quite long ago, but it was something like handcuffs), items (maybe some story-related items are not kept, as well as the devices for unlocking chests).
Just an advice: if you play NG+, don't equip *anything* before you "fight" the battle against the old purple dwarf (was it called "Nala" ?), or it will take a whiiiiiiiiiile before he/she/it will be able to kill characters (that, as you know, must happen in that fight): punches usually hit only 1 HP, while Quakega (or whatever it was) can deal better damages, but of course if you protect before it will be very long, also because of its stupid laughes one turn yes and the other no.

What about the barriers? Do they reset and I have to refind all of them or the ones I uncovered still uncovered?

The scenery of NG+ gameplay is always the same of a NG one, so everything is reset and you have to remove them just like if you are playing for the first time. It the least problem, anyway; in less than an hour I think you should be able to get them all. The only thing that can change, I think, is the item contained in the chests; in particular if there's a chest with a Spell, then it will contain just some money (I guess it's right their theorical cost in shops).

hi guys! I just finished the game a few days back. I started on impossible but i got stuck in the Ancient Cavern from the started. I killed all the Poo and now I can't open the chest that contain Thorn Grass, because I have a full inventory at 99. I can't delete the item as well as cannot spend it. I had rewritten on my old save and dont know what to do. Does anyone has any idea regard this matter. Cheers!!!!

Everything except Device and story related items. This means you KEEP your LEVELS, and CLASS/SHADOW Levels and ACCESSORIES, so you dont lose character progress, you just begin story progress again, Trust me I've done 4 new game plus's XD

What about the Item and Monster Records? I missed a few monsters on my first playthrough and was planning to get them on the next go, so is it enough for the achievement to just get the ones I missed or do the Records reset?
