For me, yes it is.
i thought the graphics is some of the best i've seen in a game, some minor faults you can see on some trees that look 2d at some angles (especially in le mans circuit) but apart from the the car detail is spot on. It is one of the first driving games that has made an effort in putting detail into the bottem of the car, not that you see that alot but when you do its always nice to see some effort to put there.

I love how reponsive the steering is and the 24hours le mans is my favourite track, love speeding around it in my audi r10. The best part is the head camera, it really makes you feel like your driving, Want to get the steering wheel for it which will make it all the more fun.

in my opinion best driving game.

Anyone agree? and if not then which driving game is better? i might try it.

Gran Turismo 5 prolouge. Sure no damage (will have to wait for the final version) but graphics blow grid out of the water and the in car view is 10 times better in GT5 than Grid IMO.

I love them both. I like Gt alot more online but grid is a blast also

Grid is defiantly one of my favs for the simple  reason of team ownership. I like how I have my own team and I can pick my drivers, name my own team (2 strong Racing) .etc etc. I think that is the missing in most racing games. I just wish the seasons were longer. I have more fun in this game then forza.

My team is black flag racing lol. The good news is you can race as many seasons as you want. I love the sponsorships (whats the highest you have recieved? mines 160 thousand$ for top 3 bridgestone)

Alot of times if i dont feel like doing the Le Mans season ending race i will enter it just so my teammate will win and i get quite a bit of sponsorship money. Demo Derby is a blast. I lose all the mid air crashes even when your not trying

   In terms of 'driving', Test Drive Unlimited clearly takes the cake there. But for racing, it is a toss-up between Need For Speed Underground, Most Wanted and DiRT. GRID was great, but there are some areas I would like to see touched up.

The damage factor was awesome in grid, as was the team raceing. The arcadiness of the game and the fact that car cusomization was almost non existant knocked this one down though. Favorite is Forza 2 (cant wait for 3) then Need for Speed Pro Street, then Grid.

GRID, Formula 1 '06 and PGR 4 are my favs. Love the team ownership in GRID and the 'working ur way to the top' in F1.

Grid is a solid game, one of the better racers out there for the 360.

My all time favorite racing games in no particular order are Project Gotham Racing 2, Mario Kart (all versions), and F-Zero (SNES version).

Dirt is my favorite racin game i love that if you drive clean you do better , need for speed pro street was great to .Grid is about the worse racer ive ever played , only thing you need to get lucky and stay away from all the AI cars because if they get close they will wreck you . Grid aint nothing but demolition derby with exotic cars .

I just found out about GRID and I'm getting excited as I read the posts, It sounds like this title has all of the features I wanted in Forza2. The thing I didnt like about FM2 is that you felt disconected no real racing experience just cars going round a track.  I am getting GRID this week

Wait a minute! I was just on the GRID site and it shows that there are only 45 cars in the game! whats up with that??? Tell me this isn't so!

Well yeah its something like that. But what do you expect? It's not Forza or PGR with hundreds of cars of all sorts. These are pure-racing cars. There's something like 30+ different championships in the game which make up for any lack of cars.

But do play it at least. Its fantastic

Toca 3 gets my vote ... more cars,more tracks,more multiplayer options,more fun to play.

It's a shame Codemasters abandoned the series and made Grid instead imo... it's great to look at,and fun to play for a while,but ultimately its got the depth of a puddle.

Grid Is my fav 360 racer. I liked the fact that there wasn't hundreds of cars in the game, you never really get to enjoy all of them if there are too many.  Oh yeah and the original mario kart kicks tail!  Can't waiy for dirt 2 and f1 2010

Rally Championship 2000 for PC. The old graphics has some kind of personal spell to it which is nice because I value atmosphere a lot. Also a lot of tracks and cars, what more can I ask for?

From the contemporary games it would be Burnout Paradise because of the open world and speed. Right after that is Grid along with NFS Undercover. Grid's greatness is obvious and I like NFSU because it has good handling with a steering wheel + open world and real cars (Bumblebee!).

I got Grid for the PS3 and love it... love it in career mode and was hooked forever racing online with it. I have to say even though Im a Gran Turismo nut ..... Grid although not a sim racer totally killed it on just pure driving and having fun with a solid racer (taking all assist off make it much more challenging and fun).... I recomend Grid to anyone who like any racing game at all. I just bought my 360 Elite today and first game i bought was Forza ...got to race bout 3 races and so far i believe im gonna like it .... Forza 3 was the main selling point for buying a 360

   I said that Test Drive Unlimited was my favourite driving game - well, I take that back and replace it with Midnight Club Los Angeles. It isn't a good racer, but it is a fantastic game to cruise in.

Gran Turismo 2 is my favorite racing game of all time. I used to play that game every day for many hours. Done every single thing in that game so many times and still play it here and there. No other racing done that to me. GRID is a great game but nothing compared to GT2.

Best racing game is Rallisport Challenge 2. For some strange reason the muppets killed it. I am still in mourning.

I used to love Tokyo Extreme Racer back in the day, though I can only imagine how boring that would be if I played it now. Grid is an excellent game, it was a bit more 'personal' than Forza 2, even if the driving itself is no-where as realistic and as mentioned the customisation is poor. The team, sponsorships and seasons give you some element of a story and actually make you want to play. I haven't picked Grid up in a while purely because I got into painting on Forza 2, but if it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't play Forza much either.
