Annoying Mini-games & Achievements

Does anyone else find the NON-RPG mini-games and the fact they are required for achievements in an RPG rather annoying?

I stopped playing this game like 2 years ago when I missed the Wagon achievement.  Ok, so I've come back to it, because well, trying to finish out some of the games I own before buying to many new ones.  Plus, otherwise I kind of like the game.  I finally did get that wagon achievement.  Strangely, I did not have a problem with the 6th group, but always with the 5th group (tiger front left, rat middle right, rat back left).  Eventually I managed that one in the most unorthodox manner.  I used Field Barrier, and waited on the right weher the middle rat would appear (by the tree and stone).  When the rat popped and died I ran down the right side and around the back (catching the rear rat in the barrier) and then ran up the left side to the front arriving in time to get between the tiger and the front wagon.  That doesn't match any guide I have ever read or tried so I thought I would offer it up here.

Seriously though, the mechat one seems like it was more luck than skill (yes practice does help) but even with that the controls are bouncy at best.  Are the other 2 mechat perfect as annoying as the first one?

I really hope if they do another Blue Dragon they skip the non-RPG achievements.  I don't mind the mini-games if they didn't have achievements for them.  After all, I wanted an RPG, that is where the achievements should be, not on some other game type.

I didn't really mind the mini game achievements.  Added a bit more variety to the game imo.

And no, the other two mechat stages are not even close to as bad.  The second one was a complete joke and the third one took me two tries (this is with full mechat updates of course Wink [;)]).
Get your level 100 in Gears 2 quick! Go hrr.

I see what you mean about the Moon Laser one it is ticking me off at the moment.  Such achievements have no place in an RPG.  I don't mind the mini-games being in the RPG.  I just don't think achievements should be based on game types that were not the of the game purchased.  My own pet peeve if you will.  Oh, well, gonna take a break and try it again later before I get to ticked off.

I'm going to restart the game to get these, and I know exactly what you mean. If I wanted to play a dodgy arcade game, there's the arcade. As someone that likes collecting achievements and generally just completing things, it's annoying that I have to contend with it. They're not terrible games, by any means, but for a game I've put so much time into, I want a decent amount of achievements for it. ;)

Dodgy arcade game is a polite way of putting things.  Poor controls and badly implemented arcadesque describes those games.  Seen better stuff as free flash games.  Yet another reason why they don't fit.

I disliked winning Mechat stage 3 only to be hit by a missile AFTER it disabled my control of the gun because well my missile struck and Land shark was dead.  Lame, poorly tested, poorly implemented, badly programmed arcade like junk does not belong in an RPG.

Ah well, done now.  At least now I can just play for fun.  Even went back after completing the game and got those two "shame" achievements.  Didn't like that they showed as secret.

I was lucky enough to pull-off on all of those Mini-games achievements. As of right now, I'm in the process of playing a second-run on Blue-Dragon and I'm not going for 'Shoot X without damage' method, that's for sure, haha. I'm definitely done with it. If there's any achievement(s) like that on Blue Dragon 2, then I'll go crazy.
