I just can't wrap the concept around my mind though. Lets say a schism comes after you... what are you suppose to do? Just stand there and feel creeped out? Whats the point of putting creatures in the game if you aren't going to kill them.... will there even be any monsters? How so will this game be fun to play? There will be no reason for blood to be all around the areas, there will be no reason for dead bodies to be lying around and most importantly there will be no reason to feel scared. Im currently in the Hell version of Alex's house in Silent Hill Homecoming and without the 'clings' that the monsters make or the random splitters (or schisms, I forget what they're called) hiding in the attic to attack you its pointless to be creeped out. This new game is obviously going to fail.
you are supposed to evade and think how you are oging to advoid the monsters, they will chase you, take alternate payth and communicatew with yeach other, you need to run, crash thru windows, barged thru doors, and use objects to barrivade areas off from the monsters untill its safe, you need to paln your escape routes via map on your gps by making way points, and the blood, the dead bodies, those are not casued by the monsters so I dont see what oyu mean there.
The whole point is too feel helpless and scared, like the other entries in the series, minus the crappy combat, and you feel scared in Homecoming? I felt more scared when there wsent any combat, I felt like a powerhouse fighting them onsters and thats the total opposite of how silent hill is supposed to be. And the good elements, like the puzzles and exploring, were toned down tremondlsy in Homecoming, so we end up with a light action horror game with a good, but predicatable storyline. If we want hte series to contine then we need to accept this new entry because it very well may save it, since now survival horro games seem extremly absent now a days.
This new Silent Hill will also tap even more into the pyschological horor even more with how the character acts and palys, it watches your actions changing what areas you see and what type of mosnters will appear during hte otherworld transformation, and I am extermly optimstic this will rekindle not only Silent Hill, but the genre itself
You protected this empty, wavering world with your own hands
So now just fold your wings and sleep peacefully
