Anyone know what this update is for?  Any new features added?

I just bought he game and thought this was an update to play on-line (as I couldn't without this update. Also, it changed to Big Surf City

BP 1.9 is the free, large mandatory update for all users, which includes Big Surf Island, however, to access BSI, you must purchase it.  Takes like 5 seconds, as it's already there.

I haven't really been to BSI a lot, been trying to find all Billboards/Gates/Jumps/Time Rules/Showtime rules, etc.  But the new island is pretty cool what I've seen of it.

Kinda confused as to why they make us download a 1.2Gig download that we don't buy.  It's taking up space, I doubt I'll buy the expansion BSI, so why make me dl it? 
Sure I've got 26 gigs left but, with future DLC what do I get rid of?

It's basically support for the expansion. You can delete all of your old patches if you like, and just keep the 1.9 patch. If you ever buy the island or any other DLC, you'll only need to purchase the key which is less than 1 MB.

Right, the way they do updates for this is every new update (ie 1.9) includes all previous updates and DLC, although the premium DLC you won't have access to unless purchased. This is so that even if you haven't purchased car packs, you can still see the cars if other people are driving them around.

The premium DLC is accessed by purchasing and downloading "keys" which are usually around 100-200kb.
