This one is getting better reviews than the first one. My only problem is that the FPS is whack. The minions on mount just kill framerate.

Well I think OXM gave the first one a 6, and I enjoyed it, so If they gave this one an 8, it must be even better! Still, Link to the review please?

That was one thing I was afraid of. Guess I`ll have to rent and see by myself before buying, as I hate framerate issues. I`m so sick of this bullshit. Every f*cking game has this problem on this damn generation of consoles.

8 isn't very good... It means the game isn't bad but it doesn't give off a good impression. Its average at best.
Do not post inappropiate links on the forums.
Thank you

Which, from a 1-10 scale is all wrong. Inflation of scores is a wide problem with video game reviews. Personally I care more about what they say about the game. If I see a good score and most of the boasting is the graphics I tend to pass, as eye candy is never worth a full priced game. And i tend not to focus too much on it once the action starts (unless it gets in the way, i.e. no overview/messy etc), same goes for a low score due to crappy online for a game i buy to play singel player, and vice versa. "The story is crappy" doesn't really bother me if I intend to run around online and shoot people.

And, on a 1-10 scale, 5-6 should be average. 7-8 Good. 9-10 Great/nearly perfect. So plox; what did they say in the review?

I agree in the sense that rating a game or a music album on a scale is stupid from my point of view. What matters to me is the comments.

I don't mind the score as much as the inflation of the score. 8 is decent. Look at reviews for all games released this year, the number of 7-9's is WAY higher then the number of good games.

But, like you said, I do find it stupid to read a number to figure out how good a game is. I prefer to use it as a measure to the things said in the review. Aka: does the things he find bad have a major impact? Minor? Do the good simply outweight the bad?

Certain sites I avoid altogether because of their craptastic scoring system. Scoring graphics on the same level as story doesn't match on any genre. In RPG's the store count more, in most FPS's (online based) the graphics mean more. Crysis for instance was a pile of garbage but got a very high score due to amazing graphics.

Unless reviews say Overlord 2 has lost all the things I loved about Overlord 1 I will most likely love this game regardless of score.

Scores are often ridiculously high indeed. Some s*itty games get high scores only because of the name.
Most games on this system would not deserve more than 5-6, imo. A game that can`t even run without frequent tearing, slowdown and framerate issues deserves no more than 4-5 in my book because it`s barely playable. And lots of games on the 360 are barely playable, if not plain unplayable.
Also, sorry, but a game that lasts 8-10 hours with very little replay value doesn`t worth 60 bucks, no matter how good it is.

What I`m looking for in reviews is mainly information on the technical aspect (bugs, glitches, tearing, slowdown, framerate, etc). The rest is too subjective and varies too much between reviews.

What I find so retarded is the habit people have to say "this will be awesome" and praise a game as a marvel before they even touched and played it, as if they could know in advance.

As for Overlord II, I will surely rent it at some point but I`m not in a hurry. I`m busy with other things so I don`t need a new game right now. I almost never play games nowadays. I have nearly lost all interest for gaming. Since a few years, I spend periods of 3-4 months without playing any game. Then it comes back for a few weeks but I get bored quickly and put all of this aside for another 3-4 months. When I don`t play games, I don`t count the time I`m not playing but I think I`ve been around 8-9 months in a row without playing in 2008. Games can`t keep my attention for long today.

Not that I care about review scores, but in no way whatsoever is a score of 8 "average at best". On a scale from 1-10 average would be a 5 (middle of the road) I believe a score of 8 is considered GREAT. NOT passable. Not perfect, but still a great experience...they praised it.

kidEgo, 5 should be average but it isn't. 7 or so is more average by most review sites today, unlike book or movie reviews game reviews are still lacking on the criticism. Possibly because alot of the readers and juveniles who scream, cry and nerdrage if a certain score. is given.
