In terms of this game being scary and terrifying how does this game compare to condemned 1, siren, fear, and fatal frame 2? Is it scarier is it less or what?

I want a game that'll make me crap my tighty whities.  Thanks.

Get Dead Space, or Silent Hill 2 if you want to be scared. This game is scary on a psychological level, you really have to understand the motives. Condemned wasn't too bad, although the end was hard for me to get through.

Dead Space wasn't scary at all, good game but overrated in my opinion.F.E.A.R is far from scary either.This Silent Hill will get under your skin, there was some intense moments where i almost got up and turned the lights on.Playing on a big screen TV with surround sound on late at a night adds to the element of fear and creepiness. Fatal Frame games are classic and scary as ***.Homecoming isn't as scary as fatal frame but its up there with it.

OK, which SH are you talking about that's scary? Cause I played SH 2 and SH3 and didn't find it to be as scary as the original FEAR (I haven't touched FEAR 2 yet). 

SH was creepy but the original FEAR gets my heart pumping fast in the hopes that I won't see Alma and the environment turn into a pool of blood.  I get more startled with FEAR as well.

I still think the scariest games are FEAR, Condemned 1, and Fatal Frame 2 (not in any particular order).

Condemned was WAY scarier. Never played Siren or Fatal Frame. And F.E.A.R. wansn't that scary at all.

Condemned, Dead Space, (old Silent Hills), (old Resident Evils) <- those all are scary in their own way.

Homecoming's scary meter 1-10....I say 1 compared to others.

The first Condemned & Silent Hill: Homecoming are definitely the scariest games I have played on the 360 to date

Wow, I guess it really depends on the person. To me, F.E.A.R. was pretty scary in the first half, but the second half felt like a regular first person shooter, and didn't really scare me much at all (got predictable). Condemned is scary in the fact that it's more realistic in the enemy movements, and I freak out in every corner because the enemy can come up from behind and beat you with a weapon, which made me jump quite a few times. Oh yeah, the environments in the game are awesome and moody! Dead Space was scary in the fact that, like Condemned, the enemies came from all sides, plus you have the added bonus of the enemies not being killed by "traditional" means, so you're constantly tense, hoping the enemy doesn't come close and get you before you rip out their limbs. The graphics are awesome, and the sound effects really add to the tension. To me, Silent Hill 2 was the scariest game ever. It just messes you up mentally. I'm in the middle of Silent Hill: Homecoming, so I don't have an opinion on it yet. At the end, in terms of scariness: Silent Hill 2 > Dead Space > Condemned 1 > F.E.A.R.. Hope that helps a bit!

F.E.A.R just had creepy parts...other than that it was just a run and gun game

Silent Hill Homecoming is scary, but not as scary as 2.
However, everytime I let someone borrow Silent Hill Homecoming, they return it to me without finishing it saying that it is "too scary".
My answer to your question is that if you are into horror games, this will not be scary; it was not scary for me anyway. I recommend you play Silent Hill 2.
If you are new to horror games, then this will most likely make you crap your pants and give you nightmares. xD
I have not played the games you want Homecoming to be compared to, but I am pretty sure that the Silent Hill Homecoming experience is way different than that of those games. I recommend you play it regardless of the bad reviews it got. (Y)

I used to think FEAR, Silent Hill, Condemned 1&2, and even Bioshock were all pretty scary games in their own ways.  Today I finished Dead Space in impossible difficulty. IMHO, Dead Space (in impossible difficulty) takes First Prize for the scariest game to date!

Sorry but as a diehard SH fan, homecoming is only better than SH4...that piece of trash
