Does this game seem extremely short?
I bought this game because I was looking for a good RPG with some long gameplay, and replay ability.

Turns out that I'm already on disk 4 and I've only put in approx. 30 hrs.
I remember playing Final Fantasy X for PS2 and I put in 79 hrs on that and I wasn't even done yet. And it had only 1 disk!

Please tell me that disk four is the longest because I just don't want it to be over to quickly.

(also, it's extremely generous with gamerscore points. I gives you over 100 GS just for going to the next disk.... wth?)

The game isn't short at all. There is plenty to do other than the main story. I've been playing it for over 80 hours.

30 hours? That's pretty impressive. Did you skip all FMVs, ignore all side-quests and only level exactly what you needed to? Did you memorise a guide for the Grand Staff? If you didn't, you should consider professional gaming. If you did, well, there's the reason you're missing out.

For what it's worth, the forth disc is by far the longest, as long as you bother to do the side-quests and such. If you don't, then, as before, it's really your own fault if you're not enjoying it and you find it too short.

If you want a really short game though, try Infinite Undiscovery; more than a few people have completed it in well below 20 hours, and you can finish the whole thing, side-quests and all, in the same amount of time as Lost Odyssey's bulk.

yeah, fourth disc is the longest part of the story coz u have to lvl up and get items to help beat the final boss, can take up to another 15 hours to beat the game and then u can do all the side quests/bosses

I'm pushing 30 hours and i'm only on the second disc. I think i must have OCD about searching every nook and cranny possible. I only started it last week and it has me hooked, i'm in no rush to fly through the discs.

Re: Does this game seem extremely short?
It's definitely lengthier than most RPGs to date. I admit leveling was kind of a breeze but that's not where the games hours are supposed to be put in entirely. You're obviously not going to get much out of the game if you just level up as fast as you can and follow the main course of the game. Did you do the side-quests? Have you tried getting every skill on every character? Have you gotten their ultimate weapons? Did you READ the dream sequences? Theres just so much in this game that gives it more than 30 hours worth unless you haven't tried hard enough.

To be honest you had a lot more to do in FFX, grinded to get more sphere nodes, parts for modifying weapons, getting Summons stronger, maxing out overdrive meters, hunting monsters, getting the ultimate weapons and unlocking them, playing blitzball and the other mini games and all those lil side quests you could do.

I once spent 9 hours in Zanarkand grinding, it was worth it owning the next bosses afterwards lol. Anyways in FFX you get a lot more to do esp with something like Blitzball to pour your time into.

I found FFX to be short even with all that and it seemed only the sphere grid is what was the most time consuming. The bosses were crazy easy. Last boss for example... what a joke. If you know what I'm talking about you know you only had to cast one thing and BAM he was down. At least LO had some challenging ones.

Oh I wasnt putting down LO or anything, I'm rather enjoying it. And the Bosses are pretty awesome to look at.

Just hope I can finish it before August. Told myself I cant buy any more games unless I finish 2 others.

Oh no no. I wasn't implying that. Its just every time I hear FFX I think of how un-challenging it was leaving me slightly dissatisfied. At least it did have a decent story and was fun. I wouldn't have finished otherwise nor spent the hours I did.

And I hear ya. I've pulled those off a lot. I feel once November hits I'm gonna be in that similar situation again.
