Maximum of 2,000 videos in library for streaming: bug or feature?

I use TVersity to stream videos to my Xbox 360, really important since WMP11 has become corrupted and won't work.

I was playing around one day and re-added directories to my Library several times, and noticed that when I went past 2,000 available videos the 360 would stop listing them all using the All option.  Only when I had 2,000 or less would the correct count of videos and all the titles in the Library be displayed.  I've retested several times now, just in case an update fixed it, but no luck.

This seems like a bug, but could be a 'feature' to discourage large libraries.  I have plans to move all my DVDs and saved TV shows to my Library so this needs fixing.

Can someone else verify (somehow) that there *is* a limit of 2,000 videos?

And if true, I'd also like an address at Microsoft where I could ask WHY.

Thanks...

I tried it with Tversity and with PlayOn Media sharing beta.  With both using the option all videos I was capped at 2000 videos.   I wonder if one of the Microsoft MVPs can answer this.

Thanks for verifying, especially with another server.  People tend to blame TVersity for anything wrong using TVersity.

My PlayOn experience has been poor, but I probably need to permanently turn off Norton's firewall since after my last failed experiment I found Norton was AGAIN asking to approve PlayOn looking at the Internet.  I guess the $20 deal roped me into more than a little setup work...

I use ZoneAlarm and PlayOn passes through my firewall fine.

Interesting things happened the moment I disabled Norton's firewall.

PlayOn's configuration tool said my PC's CPU level went from Medium to High.

Hulu suddenly had no issues showing me one of the Feature Films.

Still get nothing out of local files played via PlayOn.  I tried the local files plugin and the 'beta' stuff.  One says I have no files, the other never finds them and the 360 just clocks with the swirling animation.  Did show the folder names though.

I guess I'm calling this half-full for now...

It looks like the 2000 file limit it a Xbox 360 issue.  I have another media extender and it is showing over 3000 with Tversity and PlayOn.

So how does this forum work: unless a Microsoft MVP takes the initiative to go ask someone higher up about an issue, it just dies?  OR, if Microsoft WANTS things, like no MKV and no huge streamable video libraries, an issue just stays unanswered?

I'd prefer an email address of someone close to 360 development, since there are several other issues that need addressing.  Newer xvid videos causing the 360 to lock up if you FF/skip too much.  People *need* overscan adjustment, like a small border added while videos are being blown up anyway so their subtitles don't get too close to the screen edge to read.  Things like that...
