I thought Chancellor of Catan would never unlock.  Acquired 1/13/2009.  Been chasing it regularly since the achievement before it was acquired 8/9/2008.  *signs* *sigh of relief*

So how many wins/losses did it finally take for it to unlock?  I think I'm somewhere around 110 wins and 170 losses and I still haven't gotten it.

You have that many win/losses in ranked multiplayer? If so then it shoud have unlocked for you by know Surly because you should be at least 1100 vp's with only getting 10 per game and it takes 1000.  am going to start playing some ranked hopefully today and start chalking up some points.

It was sometime around 130 wins and 110 losses.  It unlocked at the beginning of a ranked match after I placed my second settlement. 

I applaud you for having that much patience.  I'm half-heartedly trying to grind out the 500VP achievement, but it's painful playing Ranked online matches versus live on-table matches.  I don't really care about someone's Wins or Losses pre-match but I would LOVE to know their drop % (how likely they are to drop).  There's so many dumb and bad players on ranked I seriously applaud you for being able to stick with it.  Very fun game, but Ranked is too grating for me to continue much longer. :)

Thanks.  I'm sure I drop as much as the next person (having to let the dog outside, eating with my family,  invites to other games etc).    You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) how many nasty messages I've received for quitting.  You'd think they suffer from some sort of extreme separation anxiety.    On the other hand, it frustrates me too when people quit.   I try to understand and eventually see why players quit.  Granted, it can be my fault sometimes and I doubt I'm the only one (initial settlement placement..)  Luckily, finding a new ranked match doesn't take long.

The achievements are/were glitched and may have been fixed so there's probably hope for all of us.  My new dilemma is finding a new game to obsess over..

I have had no problem getting all the achievements except for the last two big ones and I have only been playing for just over a week, I am going to start working on my ranked game and start towards the last two achievements and hopefully sharpen my game. Is there a downside to someone dropping out of a game? Because I was under the impression that the A.I. took over so is there a big deal besides the person bailing?

That's how I got addicted to Catan.   Most of the achievements unlocked on time and rather quickly.  It was just the last one for me.  I hope you don't run into the same issue as many others have posted about.
As for AI, I don't see any real downside in terms of rank or win/loss.  The AI is just too predictable and IMO not as fun.

Yeah, it sucks, its known that this achievement is bugged, that's why I asked how many it actually took for him to unlock it.  Hopefully if I keep going it will eventually unlock.  I'm just glad he didn't say it finally popped at 500 wins or something crazy.

watch the overall leaderboards! on 5th place there is a guy , i know him because he was on my friendlist, he didn t unlock it yet!! i have to fight this problem too with 101 victories and 69 losses

we should message xboxlive support and find people with similar problems so there might be an update!!
i will open a thread concerning this soon!!

Does it track your vp's from losses also or just wins?

of course it tracks your losses too but wins counts for much more! there is also something odd with in this ranklist by putting people down in their rank if they didn t played catan for a long time!!

Got the 1000VP after 136 games.... average of 7.3 VP per game :D

Some of us can't get all the achievements, because they're horribly bugged.  I've been at 80 of 200 points since playing the game from Day 1 (May 2007).  If they weren't bugged, I'd have the 200 points easily.  It's too bad the publisher never felt it necessary to fix this annoying bug.
