Hells Descent Boss Battle

Just posted this back in annoyance. The boss battle on hells descent I got stuck on you had to sit through a huge conversation EVERY TIME that you needed to replay the section, which in my case was a lot! also I had no ammo and hardly any health. In my opinion the inability to skip this stinks of poor game design so the game is now on it's way back to the rental company.

I agree -- it was an annoying waste of time to have to sit through the same cutscenes over and over again.  Some you could bypass with the start button, others would freeze the game if you tried it.

If you enter a boss battle hopelessly low on health, you are in serious trouble anyway.  I got all the way to Scarlet on my first playthrough, out of ammo and critically low on health.  I had to abandon that game and start over.

The first playthrough is the toughest.  Too bad you gave up on it.  The game is actually a lot of fun on the subsequent playthroughs -- ESPECIALLY if you've done the ending that gives you the laser pistol.  The laser pistol changes everything!!

If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research.

I am currently on my first playthrough and I am at Silent hill near the end of the game (the order) and ammo is a bit scarce especially when you need it the most with Siams.

Being low on ammo is not as critical as being low on health.  With enough health, you can win most battles with knife, crowbar, or axe by using "attack and dodge" techniques.  But once the health kits and serums are gone, being low on health is serious trouble.

If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research.

Yeah I found health a big thing aswell but once I advanced through the game I found more and more health jars just explore rooms often and you will get a lot. I have currently 8 Health Jars and 2 First aid kits.

Yeah it was disappointing as I was enjoying the game up until then, I just couldn't be bothered to start all over again.

I decided to start over after beating Scarlet because I was low on health and ammo. I just got back to her tonight and I'm trying to beat her without healing myself. I really want to like this game, but in my opinion the combat is awful.

I liked the combat a LOT more with my laser pistol.  That first playthrough was just awful -- I didn't really start enjoying the game until my 2nd time through (with laser pistol).

Using guns works well enough, it's the close combat I hate (Using axes etc).
