"disc read error" Impossible
So, i decided to load up my copy of burnout paradise and start fresh with a new save (my last save was barely into the game, so i figured i could recover what i lost quickly). I downloaded the 1.9 update, deleted the 1.7, and jumped in. As the game was loading, I got a strange message that "the main profile has changed" or something like that, which i didn't. It asked if I wanted to return to the main screen. I said yes and it reloaded... and i got the same message.

I tried installing burnout on the hard drive, hoping it would clear that problem up. It did, and all seemed fine. I went into the game, got the intro video and my learner's permit. However, when I selected my car (Cavalry), my system displayed a "disc read error" and booted me out. This was weird because, like i said, the game was on the hard drive. I tried playing again, and got the error message at the same spot.

I have no burnout dlc, save the 1.9 update, so is this a glitch, or a bad disc creating a bad install?

You are still putting your disc in the drive right? Even though it's running from the hard drive, it still checks the disc to make sure it's legit.

Works now. I deleted the game from my hard drive and played off the disc. No error messages. Now I need to stop crashing so much.
