Engine for another game?
Who else thinks that the engine of this game should be used for a street racer or open road racer? I mean, the feeling of speed is amazing in this game and I always feel happy on long straight roads or slight turns. When I drive my real car I feel like I wanna step on it and enjoy the ride but yeah, there are traffic rules so I'd like to have some game like that. I'm thinking of games like the first Need For Speed or maybe something like Midnight Club only with the amazing feeling of GRID.

Re: Engine for another game?
The reason why I bought GRID in the first place is the realism in the racing physics. It's not a Sim racer like Forza (1,2) or an Arcade racer like BO Paradise so pretty hard to classify which racing genre GRID falls under. IMO Codemasters simply outdone themselves on this title!! Favorite racing game I own to date. In regards to using the gaming engine for other racing genres that would depend on what gaming engines are implemented in future racing games. It will be up to Developers to rise above the competition and release something that can top the realism and fun factor of GRID. The only upcoming racing title that will top GRID will be DIRT 2 when it releases this Fall. Another Codemasters release!!  Yes [Y]   (Of course Forza 3 looks incredible. I will have to weigh the fun factor with a rental in the Fall. Having to invest time in SP to get anything good for MP may be just a little too tedious for me).

To be completely honest, I wouldn't want to see the engine used in GRID on another game (as it is). DiRT 2 is said to have physics with a little more 'weight', and this is important. A street racer with the amount of detail DiRT and GRID had would be ideal, but we need physics that aren't so 'light'. Otherwise, I agree completely.

Re: Engine for another game?

It would be very sad to see the engine used in GRID appearing on another game. I don't think Codemasters would allow this to happen and let down the huge allegiance of GRID fans. So I feel the same way you do Anchorman, let's not see this engine on other racers. Lots of anticipation building with Codemasters release of DIRT 2 this Fall so I expect this release to be just as good as GRID. Codemasters make fantastic video games IMO.
