Beginners Tips
I hated the game the first time (mostly because of the battle system) I bought it, now after picking it up again I really want to like it.  I plan on completing it this time.

I need some tips in the beginning to help me level quicker and have better weapons to make the game a bit easier for me.  Any tips?

Re: Beginners Tips
You don't level quicker, per se. Just make sure you' always hit the level cap for the zone you're in, and make sure you take the time to learn all the useful skills. Sometimes it's better to use healing items as opposed to spells, if you need a quick fix; they hit immediately, whereas spells have a cast time. Bosses are mostly down to strategy, trial and error, and what skills you've got. Once you get the hang of it, it's a great system that doesn't allow for overlevelling.

It's worth noting, though, if you finish all the side-quests/dungeons/bosses, the final fight will be ridiculously easy.

The Bogimoray? You can get a thunder ring nearby, which teaches anti-paralysis. Teach this to most of your party, and get the last member to hold it. Then it should be a lot easier. Of course, I haven't played this for about a year, I guess, so my memory is hazy.

Re: Beginners Tips
The Grilgan (Looks like A Gryffon) is easier to deal with at Lv14-15, its weak to Fire-Based attacks, so Equip Flame rings on your attackers and Have Janson cast a Fire spell when he isnt healing. Guard Heal & Stand Ready are also reccamended, as well as Anti-Poison. Power Drinks are also useful.

Re: Beginners Tips
What about the Grand Staff boss...the bigmorays and the little magic energy bugs.  They're hard!  What level do you have to be to beat them (it?)?

I even attempted to kill the magic bugs first...but they keep reappearing...grrrr...and the second bigmoray comes out fully charged...and almost kicks my butt the first time it attacks after it comes out.

Re: Beginners Tips
Reccamended Lv for that is 16 or 17. I'd go with 17.

The lil bugs are Vulnerable to Fire, the Worm is weak to Aqua.
So Flame Ring for attacking the Bugs, Aqua or Adamantis Ring for the Worm.
Be Sure to have Kaim and Seth learn Anti-Paralysis from the Yellow Band, after they do let Jansen equip it. Using Barricade will reduce the dmg from the Para-Flare attack.

You have to Fight this thing twice so be sure you're stocked up.
